I ended up washing my socks and jocks in the basin in the morning, will probably do the same for shirts and shorts

Alright, I'm up to Monday, the day of the Ghan. Well the Ghan doesn't leave until 5:30pm so had to find something to do to keep father occupied, because I know he would not be entertained walking around city in the shops all day.

After enjoying our buffet breakfast and securing a later check out of 1pm, we ended up playing 9 holes of golf at the Alice Springs Golf Course. For 9 holes each, half set of golf clubs each, buggy hire, balls and tees, it set us back $142. Not bad I suppose. I hadn't played golf in other 10 years (except putt putt) and dad about 2 hrs, boy it was entertaining! Balls going everywhere, looking for balls in the rough, and lots of swearing even though we weren't taking it seriously. Here's a couple of photos

Hole 1

Hole 2

Hole 3 (their signature hole)
20181008_092956.jpg

We played our holes, showered and checked out right on 1pm, then headed to the train station to drop our bags (right on time for check in opening) and watch the Ghan come in a little earlier. The train has 38 carriages and 908m long!!

20181008_153155.jpg

We walked to the city (about 500m), had our lunch, a few drinks and back to the station at 4pm. They had refreshments and music playing. The train departed about 6pm

Here's a couple photos of our cabin
20181008_173041.jpg
The sofa, that turns into two beds
20181008_173049.jpg
The bathroom!
20181008_173111.jpg

We had dinner at 6:30pm and we had some options, didn't take a photo of the menu but this is what I chose
Entree: kangaroo sandwich
20181008_184351.jpg
Main: lamb (I think)
20181008_185757.jpg
And I can't remember what dessert was.
After dinner we headed back to the lounge, socialised with everyone there, enjoyed the unlimited beverages then went to bed when the lounge closed about 11pm.

Enjoying this so far. Especially the details like washing socks and jocks in the basin - we’ve all been there. And love the cafe sign encouraging patrons to pretend it’s 1990.

The Ghan day

If you think you'll get a good night's sleep on the train, think again!! :p

I probably slept 3hrs max and that's only because the train had stopped for a good two hours through Tenant Creek, waiting for driver change and a freight train to pass. The train noises are loud and the train rocks a lot. So bring motion sickness tablets and headphones.

6:00am I woke up in time to catch the sunrise and breakfast scheduled for 6:30am. The same staff were awake and ready to go, just like they were the night before

20181009_062706_047_01.jpg
Can't remember what the choices for breakfast were but I had the barramundi benedict
20181009_065313.jpg
And I think there was a yoghurt afterwards.
The bar was open after breakfast, yes 8am and I found myself with my regular in my hand... I did ask for a coffee to start with but somehow found I alcohol instead :D

We arrived into Katherine at 9:30am for our day excursions. You get the choice of one of 3 free tours (via cruises) or one of 2 extra paid tours (via helicopters). We chose one of the cruise tours. Heres a couple photos

20181009_100020.jpg
20181009_105340.jpg
The cruise takes 90 minutes through two gorges, very informative and relaxing. Make sure you slip, slop, slap! It's hot, sunny and will also do some walking across the gorges if it is during the dry season.

Back to the train at 12:30pm for a 1pm lunch. Choices were a vegetarian, chicken salad or beef curry. Followed by mango dessert
20181009_131858.jpg
20181009_134212.jpg

After lunch I dediced to try the shower to freshen up. Well, it works, but not exactly have much pressure understandably and you really only need it to feel fresh after the tour.

Rest of the afternoon spent in the lounge enjoying the free booze and chatting to the staff. Angela and Harold more than happy to join in on the conversations.

Arrived into Darwin at 5pm where there were buses awaiting to take us to hotels. Bus driver gave us a bit of a history lesson about Darwin.

Checked into Hilton Darwin (full review in the Hilton thread), and treated to this room and view, which father was most pleased about

Dinner was a seafood meal from one of the local restaurants at reasonable price

Interesting that you find it hard to sleep on a train. I'm the opposite. The clicketty-clack and rocking sends me out beautifully. Loved the Trans-Canadian for several nights; similarly single overnight rides in less salubrious trains in Egypt, India, Russia.

Was first time trying to sleep on a train for Dad and myself so wasn't sure what to expect. If it was just rocking with no loud noises it might have been okay :)

Alright the next two days should be quick as they were mostly flight days.

Continental breakfast for 1 person was only offered (because I made booking for 1 person) with extra $10 for the hot options. I let dad have the breakfast as I wanted to eat at the airport lounge. I was still allowed in the eating area so guess I could've had something to eat but really couldn't be bothered dealing with any drama.

I arranged for a pick up time of 9:15 via the airport shuttle service, cost $18. They recommend to arrange pick up 2hrs before your domestic flight as they need to pick up customers from various other hotels. I agree with the recommendation, I wouldn't want to have been on the 10:15am bus.

I was on QF757 DRW to ADL, one of the longest flights to date I've been in Business class, I was seated in 1C.
Cannot remember what options there were but I know I chose this cold dish, was tasty

20181010_122024.jpg

My memory is failing me on the rest of the details but service was great and drink was hardly ever empty.

1hr transit in Adelaide where the Qantas Pub was quite busy, peak hour I suppose.
QF675 was next, seated in 1F (3 out of 4 flights, woot) left on time, service was good as well.
Just like the first flight, can't remember the options but this is what I chose, chicken hot dish

20181010_172220.jpg

No dramas with the flights and my luggage was one of the first 20 cases out.

After getting home, unpacking then repacking my luggage with more clothes, alarm set for 7am, I had a good sleep in my own bed for a massive day ahead.

The previous DRW to ADL flight was the longest flight I've been on, was quickly beaten by this flight MEL to PER, I was seated in 4A

On the way to the airport already on skybus, received notification QF475 was delayed by 50mins. Not a worry, more time in the lounge :D, sadly the bar not open so early so just pig out on food and coffee instead.

Once on the plane we were delayed by another 30-45mins, oh well.
This was our menu
20181011_123804.jpg
I chose the King Fish, so yummy! (please excuse the incorrect orientation)
20181011_140752.jpg
And the beef
20181011_141953.jpg
I was a bit worried about the service at time of boarding and safety announcements as the CSM's announcements seemed bored and monotone but once service started he came to life.
I love the seating on the A330, but since I was not tired I did not attempt to sleep on the lay flat seats.
My glass of drink was also hardly ever empty, the CSM offering my drink as I exited the bathroom which I was impressed with his memory.

Once into Perth, I left my luggage in a locker outside, $14 for the day, ordered an uber and went into the city.
First I went to Crown as wanted to compare with Melbourne. Perth does not rate well with me. Pokies are all over the place, no grouping with denominations and the reels are actually balls, which I'm guessing it has to do with spins per hour regulations. Didn't spend much time there, a short stroll to the nearby train station.

The trains still offer cash tickets.
I pretty much spent a whole lot of the afternoon walking around until about 5pm local, found a bar to drink and have dinner.

Thankfully an hour later, a fb friend who I added 2 years ago via mutual interest but never met reached out and we ended up chatting for another couple hours over beers and snacks near Yagan square. The display pole there is massive and bright
20181011_182606.jpg

Friend and I said farewell, I ordered an Uber, where the driver was a previous flight attendant with Virgin!! So we got talking about planes, brands, cost of my ticket (explained OWA) and places to visit overseas.

Dropped off at Qantas Terminal, picked up my luggage, hoped on the terminal transfer bus, headed to the bar while I waited for check-in to open, which it did, exactly 3hrs before flight time.

Probably not the best option to leave such a long transit in Perth without having anything booked or planned, but oh well, I live and learn :)

The Malaysian leg of my holiday has now ended so guess I should post about it before I forget everything

After checking in for my flight to Malaysia MH126, passed through all the formalities (quite easy and signage clear), I found myself the Qantas Lounge and had a well needed shower. So good to have a shower but the head was locked in place and quite low but nevermind, it did the job.

If memory recalls correctly, Breakfast was served 2.5hrs before landing which I thought was too early, everyone went back to sleep after their meal. I had the Nasi Lemak, it was full of flavour and taste (didn't get a photo.)
I was lucky enough to not have a seat neighbour which allowed me to spread my stuff out but given the flight is on a 737, it meant I didn't really get much sleep.

I stayed at Hilton DoubleTree at the Intermark building, to date this is my favourite hotel!

Getting there: catch the KLIA eskpress, get off at Sentral. Then find yourself the Gombak line (terminal 4). Get off at Ampang Park.
When you go up the escalators there's a sign that says go right for DoubleTree, don't! Go left. Right takes you along the road then up stairs where left takes you up escalators again and along a pedastrian bridge directly to the building.
Screenshot_20181012-122025_Maps.jpg

I arrived around 10am which is early and understandably the room wasn't ready. I preselected 2503 and at the time room wasn't vacant. The staff moved me to a new room 1718 which apparently had a much better view (it had a great view of the city) but still room wasn't cleaned so I just waited in the lounge.

I was tired and didn't fancy doing any more walking, I just wanted sleep. Ordered myself a coffee with fancy art
20181012_102036.jpg
Where the trainee staff members kept me awake by chatting to me for the next hour. They were very friendly and seem genuinely interested in my travel plans and Australia.

Room was ready at 11am and I fell asleep soon after

Woke up at 4pm, at the right time for hotel happy hour (4-8pm). Tiger Beer for MR10! ($3.50 AUD), I had quite a few during my stay.

Had buffet dinner at the hotel where the advertised price is MR110 but hotel guests get 30%off. The buffet had three different sections: Indian, Chinese and Malaysian/Western. The options were good, well cooked, but I recommend exploring more options outside of the hotel.

This post is longer than I thought it would and I need to wake up early for my next flight, so next post hopefully tomorrow :)

I've been so lazy with this trip report perhaps because I've been relaxing too much enjoying the holiday ;)

The Malaysia trip I didn't do much, I really didn't, there wasn't many places on my must see or do list.

Everyday: enjoyed the hotel's complimentary buffet breakfast, thanks to being a Gold Member. I quite often filled up on the breakfast and rarely had any lunch, if I did it was something small.

In the afternoon / evening, enjoyed many beers at MR10.00 and sampled the hotel bar's food options.

Saturday: Wanted to do the Hop on Hop off bus. There are two ticket options, 24hr or 48hr, I chose 48hr so if I saw something I liked and must visit day after I could do it. Next time, don't select any option, there are free buses around, so unless you want to pay MR99 for a novelty open top roof bus and some little commentary, just get lost on the free buses, there are different routes and they run regularly enough that you can find your way back eventually.

I decided to get off at Kuala Lumpur tower. There are multiple ticket options including option for skydeck and to visit the mini attractions outside, which are mini zoo, mini aquarium (really small) and the upside down house. I chose observatory deck and mini options. Here are some photos of the view, spot the hotel ;)

20181013_122337.jpg

Bought some chocolates from shops at the entrance, everything seemed on discount and I got good offer, I'm sure I didn't but hey I wanted to buy some chocolates to take home.

Sunday
Went on the HoHo bus again. Decided to get off at Sentral and explore the shops there for a little while. I couldve gone to some other touristy places but to be honest, I really couldn't be bothered, it was humid and didn't feel like getting all sweaty again.
Not the busiest time at sentral
20181014_142142.jpg
For lunch went to one of the shopping centre shops and had what boyfriend calls "white people food"
20181014_134747.jpg
We drove past a market, I think near China Town. Back to back stalls with room to walk. I can't recall if it was there on Saturday. I was too late to take a decent photo but here's what I did take.
20181014_155949.jpg

Monday
I embarked on an adventure to Batu Caves. It's quite easy to get there on train, use Google Maps or follow the signs. However the trains do not visit or depart regularly, plan your visit so you aren't waiting over an hour. Here's some touristy snaps
20181015_124434.jpg

20181015_142205.jpg
Nearly to the top there's a 45min cave tour, unless you're scared of the dark I recommend you do this
20181015_130742.jpg
There are monkeys everywhere, if you are not carefulthey will take your food and belongings, someone had their sunglasses taken lol

If you don't time your visit and just miss the train home and need to wait for an hour, there's another cave to explore near the station for a MR5 'donation'. Inside it explains a battle of some kind, here's a photo
20181015_144930.jpg

I'm at my 10 photo limit now and I'm currently enjoying sake on a bullet train heading to Shin-Osaka.
Will post more another time :)

Wow my Osaka leg of this trip went extremely quickly, I'll touch on that later.
I'm back on the Shikansen travelling back to Tokyo from Osaka so time to add more to the trip report.

Tuesday in Malaysia
I didn't do anything significant today, I think I went walkies, did some exercise and explored. How boring right?! I told you this leg of the holiday was all about relaxing.

I know I did get a full body massage at one of the shopping centre places at the hotel building. $50 for 90mins, so cheap!

I went to a place called SOULed Out for dinner, I went there the night after as well. This place has good food, cheap drinks and live music however is let down by 90% of their table staff, such poor service. Once you get drunk on $50 on their cheap coughtails the poor service doesn't matter anymore.
I took a photo of the tiramisu, the only photo I took that day (such a bad tourist)
20181016_194145.jpg

Wednesday
I went to Patronas Towers.
I bought a ticket the day before as it was suggested I do so by one of the locals since tickets for the day sell out quickly.

I chose an 11:15 slot and didn't leave until 12:30. It's because the tour takes you to the connecting bridge view

20181017_113200.jpg
20181017_113214.jpg

Stay on the bridge for 15 minutes then progress to level 83, some 350metres above ground, for this view

20181017_114404.jpg
20181017_114414.jpg
20181017_114800.jpg

Wow! Right?! You spend about 15mins on the floor taking your photos then you taken back down to level 81 where you can buy souvenirs, take some more photos etc. Once you're ready, about 5 minutes later, you go back down to Ground.

I had lunch at one of the tower's Malaysian restaurants. Good filling lunch at good value.

After lunch, walked around some more, went to another shopping mall. Lots of stores, not many customers in them.

If you are still a Pokemon Go player like I am, there are still many people playing in Malaysia, anywhere I went for a L5 raid to start there were people waiting.

Peak hour in Malaysia is 4pm - 7pm, below is common scene, with lots of cars tooting their horns.... imagine the road rage if the below happened in Australia
20181017_182824.jpg

This was my final full day in Malaysia. I absolutely enjoyed having no plans, relaxing, the cheap food and drinks and the friendly people.

I would visit again but with an itinerary, perhaps take an overnight trip to Penang and/or explore the National Park north of Kuala Lumpur.

Flight for the following morning is at 10:00am, so went to bed relatively early. I'll post about that in the next post sometime soon :)

Jumping to the present for a brief moment.
Got to the JL check in counter at 6pm (flight is at 10pm) and received a "please wait here, there is an issue, US Customs will come to see you"

About 10-15mins of waiting, sitting down at check in counter, US customs asked me questions about work, how long I've been working there, what I do etc, what I'm doing in USA, why I went to Malaysia before Japan, have I ever been to Middle East, do I serve in the armed forces, contact details etc, questions took about 5-10 minutes. It was all kind of unofficial as he was writing it down on paper. He said it's because it was my first visit to US that I got flagged and to expect more questions when I land (fun).

Boarding to HNL in about 2hrs.

Unfortunately, you have to be on your best behavior with US Customs, no matter how annoying and frustrating they might be.

Fingers crossed for a bit of sleep on the plane (lay flat seating so hope so) so I can endure their questions in about 8hrs time

Still in the present, and as expected was questioned by immigration, seemed like a lot longer than everyone else waiting.

Was brought into a group waiting room and just waited, watched others who come in after me leave before me.

I waited for about an hour before my name was called, then spent about 45mins being questioned. Lots of the same questions from the night before. Asked about my intentions and specific places I'm visiting in Hawaii. If I know anyone in Hawaii or in the USA (no) and if I'm meeting anyone. I mentioned my friend, who's coincidentally visiting Hawaii same time as me, so provided details about him, what I knew about him and his travel plans. I had arrived from Japan but interestingly they were more interested in what I did in Malaysia.how long I was there, specific details of my tourist activities.

Asked more personal details about home life, my bf, where he from, how long we've known each other, how we met etc.

All the questions were quite general in nature but the intensity made it feel quite intimidating.

When I was finally cleared had my luggage inspected briefly, back pack was emptied, boarding passes or documents I had were looked at and suitcase was just given a once over.

So welcome to the US of A, time to enjoy the last leg of my holiday.

Will post about my Japan trip shortly :)

Time to continue on with the trip report, take yourselves back to when I was in Malaysia and I'm heading to Tokyo.

So alarm set at some stupid time... okay 5:30am Malaysia time is not early for some but it is for me

Wanted to get to airport early so I could relax and enjoy Malaysia Airlines lounge.

I got to airport just after 7am, checked out Cathay lounge first (it was small), just had the basics... Coffee, yoghurt, cereal, eggs, beer. Then took myself off to Malaysia Airlines lounge, this place is huge! Plenty of seating and every seat appeared to have phone charging opportunities. Also had showers, fresh omelettes, waffles or coffee. Here's the from where I sat

20181018_083941.jpg

I was on Cathay Dragon, on an A330, unlike Qantas setup, this plane only has recliners, not like I needed to sleep anyway, reasonable leg room though. Had no seat neighbour which was a bonus :D

20181018_095135.jpg
The lunch menu... I had the fish, was tasty :)

20181018_104502.jpg
For the wine enthusiasts, here were the options, I'm not a wine drinker so happily enjoyed a JD & coke. Cabin staff happily top up my glass whenever they walk through.
20181018_104526.jpg 20181018_104532.jpg

Just a 4hr flight, goes so quickly.

I stayed at Hong Kong Citygate. The hotel offers a frequent free shuttle bus to/from hotel/airport which is handy. I used my Accor Plus complimentary night so wasn't expecting anything special and I didn't receive it. Just a basic room, glad I was only there for the 1 night because I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it any longer. A quite a few of you have reviewed it so no need to offer any further details.

20181018_153412.jpg

After checking in, I took myself off to the nearby cable car for something to do, so glad I did. The views, amazing, although a little cloudy!

20181018_163646.jpg
20181018_164028.jpg

I took two photos of the airport with a plane taking off but AFF is not liking either of the photos, so you miss out :p

Got to the end and walked to Buddha

IMG_20181019_090504_976.jpg
The Buddha island also has over 200 cows (I learnt this on the plane over), heres a photo of 3 of them

20181018_171441.jpg

Did the walk up, took some photos, looked around then went back to the train station. I went to Hong Kong station, walked outside and looked for something to eat. Perhaps looked at all the wrong places but couldn't find any eating areas, but was good to walk around Hong Kong for a brief moment. Ended up having dinner back at the hotel station. The hotel is about 30-40 train ride from the city.

I didn't realise typing up a trip report on mobile would take so much time, I'm trying to post as much as I can.

The Hawaii Hotel bar has $5 coughtails, this could get dangerous :)

Trip reports are time consuming so people that have done them are impressed.

Keep up the good work

Currently 11pm in Hawaii Airport and I'm regretting the choice to get to the airport early, the only place open for food and drink is Starbucks :( - should've stayed at the hotel bar where I was getting comped drinks... must have been the tips from the previous nights ;)

Anyways, time to continue the Trip Report where I left off... Friday, Hong Kong to Narita.

Was on a 10:30am Cathay Pacific 777 Flight, old seating with only recliners, 2-3-2 config. Was sitting in 5D with a middle seat shadow.

Here's the menu
20181019_104148.jpg
I had the beef because I recently read glowing reviews, it was delicious

For the wine lovers, this was their menu

20181019_104207.jpg
20181019_104212.jpg

As mentioned previously up thread, I'm not a wine drinker, I prefer brown spirits, so I was a wee bit excited when I saw Johnny Walker Gold on the menu - I had many glasses!

20181019_113454.jpg

Arrived at Narita Airport not realising how overly tipsy I was, asking for a Data Sim in a foreign country, especially where English is not first language, and inserting the Sim into phone yourself (it is self service even if bought at shops) was quite a challenge!

Hopped on the Narita Express, got to Tokyo station (what an assault on the senses, so congested in peak time!) , walked about 1kms to find the train that got me to Hanzamon Monterey Hotel

Nice hotel, small rooms, but didn't really matter when not in the room all that much
20181019_182302.jpg
20181019_182324.jpg
20181019_182339.jpg

By this time it was about 7pm and I was feeling a bit peckish, wasn't confident playing dinner roulette with a vending machine so found myself a restaurant with English menu on show. Walked around the neighbourhood and along the river surrounding the Chiyoda palaces that's nearby. Couldn't see anything other than water and trees because so dark but was quite a nice stroll.

A note for visitors walking, walk to the left to allow the 300+ joggers that seem to be jogging every night past you.

The hotel has a buffet breakfast on for 2,200 Yen, with a mix of Japanese and Western food, 6-10am, 10:30am on weekends. I didn't think it is worth it (is any buffet breakfast worth the cost?) but caved a couple times when woke up not wanting to order anything.

Saturday in Narita, a free day, as knew not to attend any of the attractions and theme parks on weekends.

After having something small at a local Dotour, sells coffee and small foods, I took myself off to the city to explore.

First stop, the massive crazy crossing in Shibuya. I took a video but no photos, I was just so memorised and the number of people.

Pokemon Go is still huge in Japan, and I was really looking forward to playing and speaking with the locals, more to come in a few days time. For the PoGo players still here, there are 3 gyms at Shibuya Crossing, at the time I was there there was L5 raid on. I'd estimate at least 100 people, perhaps more, at this location, huge gathering.

I could play PoGo all day but knew I should be exploring, so did that.

Walked about 800m north west and found myself at NHK Studio Park. This place is a tv studio for I think kids programming from what I could gather.
200Yen entry, for a walk through of the history of the studio, interactive displays, and live viewing of a kids TV show.

20181020_135923.jpg

Finished the tour and kept walking North to Yoyogi Park. Suggest you read the signs if you're looking for Meiji Jingu shrine and don't do what I did and walked through the park. Didn't think it was a mistake though, plenty of things happening.

Two dedicated dog parks, one for less than 5kgs and another for all others

20181020_150254.jpg

Kept walking and you spot a whole lot of people doing various activities, making giant bubbles, playing Frisbee, a ball sport just to name a few (it was a beautiful day too btw)
20181020_150738.jpg

After asking a local, I was directed to the entry to the shrine.

When I eventually got there, a wedding was on progress
20181020_154436.jpg

20181020_154625.jpg

Eventually made my way to the Shrine, paid my respects and continued doing some walking.

Found myself at Shinjuku, so crowded in a small walk way, if you're claustrophobic don't come here!
20181020_161447.jpg
Oh, just to the left of the screen is the Cat Cafe, I didn't go inside because already feeling a cold coming.
20181020_161253.jpg

All the walking deserved a treat, right? Yes, I thought so, a macho, brownie crepe, so good, and worth the wait!

I didn't have any issues with the train system, although continuing buying tickets was a bit of pain, should've bought a local pass, oh well.

All the automated announcements are in English and Japanese, as well as the trains that have monitors...

All the lines have different lettering and colours, signage in stations is clear, also showing direction of travel. Very impressed.

Arrived home at 2am last night, so tired, slept amazingly and pretty sure I'll have no jet lag.
Now that I am back home I should be able to smash out the rest of the trip quite quickly

Sunday in Tokyo
Looked outside the hotel window and knew it was going to be an amazing day, weather wise.

Started the day off caving in and paying for the hotel breakfast, filling me up for a big day ahead.

But first, doing clothes washing properly, using a coin laundromat. Just a short stroll up the street where I noticed quite a number of sake bars scattered across the place, this one right next door to the laundromat... sadly not open in the morning :(

Got the washing finished and head into the city to play Pokemon Go, between 12pm - 3pm for what's called "Community Day". I was really looking forward to the next two hours, due to PoGo Community Day is super popular. It was the PoGo Community Day that never happened, Niantic had server issues for the 2 hours I had free. Boy oh boy the local players were not happy. Where I was had lunch, I estimate 90% of customers had their phones open with PoGo open waiting for Niantic to sort their servers out, they didn't.

Come 2pm, it was time to have fun on the streets of Tokyo, Go Kart style! Best FUN ever! Group of 5 of us driving the streets of Tokyo for 3 hours. Driving over Rainbow Bridge at 80kms/h (where speed limit displays 50kms/h) was quite thrilling. Here's a few photos I took along the journey.

After the experience, walked to near Okachimachi station where there are a number of food and market stalls. Lots and lots of options so not really sure where to start. Got out an app called FourSquare to look at their recommendations. Up popped a Tonkatsu place with a rating of 9.4/10... that's where I'm going. Walking around trying to find the place, looking for familiar Japanese characters. Didn't really had to look hard for the characters when there's a bit of a line. They take your orders while you wait for a seat. After a quick look at the small menu, I knew exactly what I wanted. I soon realised why the place was popular, the meal was delicious!

Walked around some more, had some dessert at a place that had another long line then went back to the hotel. Fun day

Monday in Tokyo
Today is DisneySea Day!

Prior to this day I had read reviews that you should arrive early, before gates open, plan your day, such as what performances you want to watch and what rides you really want to ride, because there will be long waits and get your fast track passes as soon as possible.

In true Australian style, she'll be right mate! Yeah nahhhh, you should really take note of the reviews ;)

I got to Disney at 8:55am and the place was already so crowded. Walking around the park I noticed queue times for popular rides were approaching 70 mins already!! At Peak time of the day, about 3pm, wait times exceeded 2hrs. DisneySea has a lack of signs as well so you really need to familiarise yourself with points of interests around the park otherwise you'll get lost.

Thankfully, there are two rides that have single rider queues (Indiana Jones Adventure and Raging Spirits) that don't get abused by non-single riders (more of this on Wednesday), all others I had to wait, except where I had a fast track pass.

Everyone is able to access Fast Track for free, but choose carefully. Fast track available once per customer per ride, until allocation exhausted, can only get a new fast pass until time has expired on your previous.

There are 6 "adult" rides that have an element of thrill, the rest are children/family friendly rides. There are 5 main performances, Japanese is the main language in all performances except for one. In total, I was able to watch all performances and go on all the rides I wanted to go on, some twice. Here are the photos of the park I took

Park closes at 10pm.

Such a fun day, as long as know that you aren't going on many rides and Disney puts on some great shows (plan to watch these instead of going on the rides)
