Hello everyone,
I'm reaching out on behalf of a friend (really!) who's currently in a bit of a travel predicament.
Here's the situation: my friend booked a multi-leg journey from FRA-ICN-HND-ICN-FRA through booking.com, all under a single PNR with Asiana Airlines. However, a day before his scheduled HND-ICN leg, he realized he had booked for the wrong day. In a rush to rectify the mistake, he ended up booking a separate flight for that segment. I had to deliver the bad news that this may quite likely have jeopardized his ICN-FRA leg.
After contacting Asiana Airlines, they informed him of a no-show fee amounting to 120 USD, a prerequisite before any discussion about his eligibility for the ICN-FRA flight. Additionally, the payment must be made using a Korean credit card.
My suggestion to him was to pay the fee. As for the issue with the Korean credit card, I recommended exploring the option of using a charge card from a convenience store, which could potentially resolve the payment hurdle.
Now, onto the pressing question: what are his chances of being able to board his flight this Saturday? What can he do to improve his situation?
Has anyone here had experience with charge cards in Korea or similar situations?
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
