ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Cruiser, one thing I have come to learn in my time here is that you are anything but simple. Cheap maybe...but anyone who can score saver suites and F redemptions like cheap confetti as you do is not simple. ;)

Hey ............... I resemble that remark!!!

So cheap that he has stopped coming to drinks because he has to pay for drinks and would rather be "too busy" flying F and suites everywhere... Outrageous IMHO :p

Can we start a list of credit cards that CAN be used for ATO payments?

285 pages is a bit much to go through to find info in.

Somehow I am apprehensive of such a list.

Raising the flag, so to speak.

Make it too easy to be a "target" from ..... a lot of quarters

Could backfire on us in the end

I could be a minority here, have to admit.

I agree, it's not that hard and really doesn't involve reading the whole thread. I just feel there are some people who want everything handed to them on a plate, I'm not opposed to helping people but my definition of this is not us doing the hard work and then them ruining it for us.

Sounds harsh, well my view on this is that no one 'has' to help others, if we want to do it on our terms well the people asking for the info just have to accept it!

In twelve days time we will have paid another monthly BAS to the ATO which we split up according to ownership of the business. It comes around so quickly and has to be paid on time and still no thank you from the fiscal fiend.
Nothing for direct Amex cards even though we still have three as their earn rate versus cost is unsatisfactory. Nothing for BankWest as the 200,000 points cap has been reached and the new year starts in 5 months time. Nothing for any Australian Citibank card as they pay you zero points.
I think I will spread the payments over multiple cards and then enjoy quite a few "free days" that the banking system allows.

I have OCT-DEC payment sitting at 0% for 6 months with Citi. Will do the same for JAN-MAR but with NAB for 15 months, no card fee for 12 months..... Points & free financing... Wonderful

I guess you are ready to develop further into the world of rebates going past starthere , Woolies5% and frequent flyer points triple dipping Shintaro10x.
Just don't let travelling get in the way.

Spoke to the foreign folk at WWEDR (HSBC) and asked about closing my account as the annual fee was higher than my Citi Select fee free for life, waived it for another year. Guess I'll hold on to it for when I decide the Amex ATO charge is a little high ;)

Woollies CC is brilliant at a point per dollar. If anyone cancels this card due to the $89 fee maybe book an appointment for them to seek medical help. It is a great credit card.
Citi does not work for ATO points.

It's extremely good value at a $0 fee also ;)

We suggested to our PAYG managers that they should consider the fee free Citi card as they don't get ATO bills.
PAYG means pay as you go tax instalments on salaries.

My concern is that if hammered hard it might be yanked. We do like this card a lot.
We put our personal taxes on it and then shuffle the business taxes across various other cards.
I found the Amex Blue we had in the draw (got it for a points sign up) so throw a few dollars on it just to see.
Yes the return is poor, but a good back up.
And the Citi cheque to self has worked out very nice.
We too are using some of the balance transfers as i seem to have more credit cards than an actual deck of playing cards. Royal Flush.
