ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I spoke with a chap from ATO last week. There is definitely 2 weeks grace when using the portal.

I thought that as we met the criteria for 2 weeks grace on BAS then the due date is 11 November. When I checked today the ATO portal said it was overdue?

Similiar thing the other day on one I lodged. Showed as overdue, but as soon as lodged showed "new" date of 11 Nov.

When one accidentally overpays their PAYG (read consistently), how do y'all recover the balance in a timely manner? It seems most of you have BAS statements which differ to PAYG in the way the excess monies are credited back to your bank account (something about non-integrated accounts within ATO backend).

From what I can glean from several ATO reps for PAYG, I must call up, identify the overpay with a valid reason, and they then manually enter a request for another department to process the refund within 14 days. I pay with CC using the ATO Optus portal.

I went overboard with paying forward the BAS because my points warehousing card was running out of legs. All I wanted was a completely loaded warehouse and I can live without getting a refund. I have pretty much covered 3 months worth ahead of time.
Along comes a Velocity 15% deal bonus so I reloaded my Velocity account as that is a pleasing offer.

So currently, I have: a Woolworths Everyday Rewards card, a Westpac Earth Platinum Plus account and an Amex Ultimate Qantas card. I should get rid of one of them, but in the meantime, can someone tell me whether any of these will give me reward points for an ATO payment?

Long time lurker, first time poster... so those who know more correct me if I'm wrong but -
WOWEDR - Rewards points for ATO was yes, status is unknown at this stage since the silver donut took over from HSBC
Westpac Earth - Rewards points for ATO is being removed this month?
Amex Ultimate - Unsure.

Westpac Earth is no points on MC, 0.5 pp$ on Amex from 9th Nov

Well Princess Fiona I am not happy with the change but I did my best to load up while it ran.
Plan B has to be running in January and it is getting more difficult now that Citi, Amex Ultimate and some Westpac cards are now off.

Ditto, just loaded up $75k on the Westpac Earth Black then going to cancel it :( Still hunting for the best solutions, any tips for a newbie would be greatly appreciated (master) cove :D

Westpac Platinum Kris Flyer is still working but it transfers points each month (no warehousing).

I hope your bravery is rewarded in spades Buzzard.
In the last 5 weeks I did 3 pages of ATO on 8 cards to share the love around. None with ANZ though and Bankwest is at the annual points cap so I might have to get a second family card.

I paid yesterday with my ANZ Black Amex. Will find out in ~ a month what the earn is.

Do you have to wait a month?

I paid an ATO bill with my ANZ Black QF Amex recently and a couple of days later my pending QFF points balance increased by 1.5 x the payment amount...absolutely as expected.

Is there a difference between the FF and non-FF black Amex?

This is my experience. Have been pumping the Black and Plat since August and they deliver like the local postie.

AFIK the Frequent Flyer (mine) credits each month to QF whilst the other will warehouse your points. You then have a choice of where you would like to transfer those points although maybe not to QF.

My end of month for woollies is today. I made a payment to ATO yesterday and it's come through. Might have an update shortly.
