ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Hey, since when did citi prestige visa stop paying points for VIC SRO(land tax) ......tell me they have made a mistake......please..........

I'm just about to pay a big insurance bill. Has anyone recently made an insurance payment with their Citi Prestige card recently and still received points? Thought I'd check before paying given the policy on points for insurance and given they've tightened up on land tax which was previously a fertile "government payment".

Albyd I think you could do a prepayment tester as we will all be wanting to figure out what Citi has cut without telling us.
My Citi Prestige points earn was out but I evened that up by getting that Velocity 15% bonus today.

I'll make a part payment in the next few days and report back my observations. Might need to refrain from making other charges until it posts just to be sure given Citi don't itemise points.

No one can second guess Citi in Australia but it appears they are tinkering with their reward points software. Time for testers to help us out before someone does a seriously large payment to get dust instead of points.

I've just applied for the CBA Business Awards Platinum Credit Card (which comes with both Amex and Mastercard). You earn 3 points on the Amex (which equates to 1.5 Virgin FF points) and 1 point on the Mastercard (equates to 0.5 Virgin FF points).

My business ATO spend is circa $200K p.a. so to keep under the 300,000 points cap p.a. figure I should spend $50,000 on the Amex and $150,000 on the Mastercard to earn 300,000 CBA Awards points which equates to 150,000 Virgin points at a total ATO surcharge cost of $1,445 or 0.963c/VA point before tax deductions.

Seems pretty good value to me compared to my straight Amex earning only 0.5 Ascent Premium points for 1.45c surcharge.

The business cards are the only ones in the CBA suite still earning on ATO right? I'm on a NAB business card but in the process of switching to CBA

I had better reload the BW cards for a last full hurrah....they get enhanced around June 20th. Need also to watch the 200,000 points cap on Platinum BW. Have already started on our May BAS because of these changes.

is the 10% after one year using the card? 1st year free annual fee, so the bonus points came on the 2nd year after annual fee ?

I just read it as part of the fine print: you get 10% of the points earned in the preceding 12 months as bonus after each anniversary. Specific timelines are explained in the fine print.

When I had the BOM version last year, it was literally on your birthday. 10% bonus on the points you had earnt in the last 12months.

Does this card definitely pay ATO?
