ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Noticed a promotion for Sniip, which offers 1.5% for paying with local Visa/MC/Amex and 3% for international Visa/MC (that seems to include GST) for ATO payments and other bills. I couldn't see that it had been mentioned before so I thought I'd post about it.

1.5% for Amex and works at the ATO? That's better than anything I've come across so far!

I wonder if there are any catches - any monthly fees, etc.?

1.125 FF points (potential 1.4FF with 25% bonuses) on ATO payments with an Amex Platinum and 1.25 QFF points with an QF Ultimate? Tempting tempting...

Pro-tip - pay ATO via BPAY with the NAB Business Cards (Qantas and NAB rewards variants) get full points and ZERO fees
How do you know BPAY provides points on this card? i couldnt find anything specific on that in their pdfs.

Forgive me, for I am confused. Can you not earn points at all for ATO payments on the St George card, or is there simply a (small) surcharge for doing so?

I think its what the T&C doesn't say that is the point.

6. in the T&C is "What transactions don't earn Points?"
not "What transactions do earn Points"
there is no mention of BPAY

plus as proof, NAB Rewards Business Signature Card

I really .. really like your proof :).

Much appreciated.

Yes, it appears uncapped on the non-Qantas variant.

CBA is mostly junk for points IMO ;)
agreed, also bpay is not included.

Yeah it's not really proof of anything, but the best that I could show without linking an actual transaction to the points earned like how Amex do it.
It's how they list the points earned on their nab rewards portal.

It's also great on use to pay deft bpay

There is currently an Amex promo for Sniip on a couple of my accounts, to sweeten the deal a bit more (spend $50 get 1000 points).
