Noticed a promotion for Sniip, which offers 1.5% for paying with local Visa/MC/Amex and 3% for international Visa/MC (that seems to include GST) for ATO payments and other bills. I couldn't see that it had been mentioned before so I thought I'd post about it.

Given that this is only marginally more than the cost of paying the ATO directly (1.5% vs 1.45%) and gives full credit card points, could become a new viable option for many with Amex.

Yeah it's not really proof of anything, but the best that I could show without linking an actual transaction to the points earned like how Amex do it.
It's how they list the points earned on their nab rewards portal.

It's also great on use to pay deft bpay

There is currently an Amex promo for Sniip on a couple of my accounts, to sweeten the deal a bit more (spend $50 get 1000 points).
