ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Just getting clear is that ATO via sniip or sniip proper so you couldn't say BPay levies (as DEFT payment was not an option)?
apologies for being unclear, yes it wasn't ATO, but sniip to a biller that is usually fine with Coles/vanilla cards

sorry to labour the point - so it was to a specific biller on Sniip rather than having blocked Sniip?
now my memory fails me, I don't actually remember if the error was on adding the payment method, or when making the payment... Tried looking through my records, but I haven't used sniip at all since then

I tried those $1000 visa cards from officeworks about 2-3 years ago. Tried to pay ATO, no dice and from memory, tried to add to sniip (which was fine from memory) and then tried to pay ATO, Activ Visa blocked ATO's bpay biller number so no way to pay ato with it.

I've got a decent (enough) bill to pay soon. Have never used the third party processors, but will have to look into them.
I can see sniip has a 5k QFF bonus for new customers.
Same with pay.com.au - 25k QBR.

Are there any others with bonuses - referral or otherwise?

I have used Sniip for some years.

Recently I made use of a 20k QBR pay.com.au bonus in relation to $10k of payments.

That has expired.

Currently pay.com has a referral which gives an effective 8k airline points to both referrer and referee

I suggest you look to which facility where you can maximise newbie bonus benefits.

pay.com or pay.com.au?
The latter currently has a better offer - 25k QBR bonus for $10k of payments.

I could also get the ANZ QBR Visa which has a 100k bonus ($6k spend) and a 0.5 points per dollar earn rate for ATO.

Pay is slightly lower on the surcharge on the top plan which is free for the few month(s) for new members

Do the former anyway. However there will be a fee for that .5 points - you can likely do better.

This entire thread is about getting best bang for buck.

Thanks. I'm calculating for a $10k ATO payment on a Westpac Altitude Black MC Qantas:

On the free premium plan (can cancel within the free period), ex GST:
$80 for the payment processing
$180 for the PayRewards points if I select the higher of the two options
$260 total fees.

I will get:
25k QBR bonus
ATO bonus of 5k Payrewards points = 2k QFF
20k Payrewards points = 8k QFF

So for $260 (ex GST), I get 10k QFF and 25k QBR points.

There's also a potential 10k Payrewards (4k QFF) for a referral bonus, too.

The earn on the Westpac Altitude Black is 7.5k QFF.

For a theoretical total of 46.5k QFF points (once QBR converted), it will be $260 ex GST (or $286 inc GST)

There is no sign of a minimum subscription period, it just says to email them to cancel.

Am I missing anything?

Looking at a few others, thought I'd put this here for reference, Westpac Altitude Black MC Qantas $1k payment:

sniip
Bonus 5k QFF with $1k spend
Regular earn is 1 QFF point per $10 spent
Mastercard and Visa are both 1.50% (inc GST)
Altitude Black $1k payment has:
$15 in processing fees
Earning: 100 QFF regular earn
5k QFF bonus
750 from Westpac
Total $15 for 5850 QFF points
Potential $10 referral discount

RewardPay (Amex partner)
30% bonus Qantas points (QBR)
2.15% processing fee (ex GST)
If choosing 1 point per $1 spend = 1.80% fee (ex GST)
The QBR Amex earns 1.25 points per dollar
$1k payment has:
$21.50 ex GST in processing fees
$18.00 ex GST in points fees = 1000 QBR points
300 bonus points
$39.50 for 1300 points
1250 points from Amex QBR
Total $39.50 (ex GST) = $43.45 inc GST for 2550 points

Yak Pay
Mastercard standard card fee is 0.85% ex GST (seems like Altitude Black comes under this - only the Westpac Business cards come under "Premium")
Earn 30% more Qantas Points on every eligible transaction made via card or Bank Transfer using Gold tier or higher on our Rewards Accelerator feature
Gold is 2% fee (ex GST) for 1 QBR point per dollar
$1k payment has:
$8.50 ex GST in processing fees
$20.00 ex GST in points fees = 1k QBR points
300 bonus QBR points
750 points from Westpac
Total $28.50 ex GST ($31.35 inc GST) for 2050 points

sniip is definitely the best one of these 3.
