ATR 72 evacuation demonstration and proving flight in Brisbane

Samh004 and myself will be treating ourselves to a post-evacuation discussion at The Virgin Australia Lounge on the other side of the runway, anybody else is more than welcome to join us.

What time in the lounge?

Not sure yet, there is two groups doing the Evacuation test. Group 1 finishes at 1200, group 2 finishes at 1300. So sometime after that. I'll try and post on the day which group we are in. (I'm guessing we will all try and get together in one group?)

Additionally, I have a friend arriving on QF2533 later in the afternoon that I was hoping to have a free drink with, before he goes with his family back to Dalby. So I’ll be there throughout the afternoon, waiting

The cabin is actually really nice. I'm fairly tall and I had no problems with legroom. I'll post some pictures and a mini trip report later.

I just registered for the ATR proving flights next week.

For what it's worth, I suggested to the guy organising it that next time he needs something like this, rather than trying to organise random members of the public (seriously, that could be anybody) he should run an AFF style event where we can all go. He quite liked the idea.

Really good idea actually, they get to showcase their new gear, and get valuable feedback at the same time, plus we get to do something a bit different. Win win
