Being a higher ranking public servant, I doubt Dr Tim would ever set foot on a VA aircraft. I would assume this is squarely aimed at QF.....

I was on a VA flight to OOL with Treasurer at the time Joe Hockey and his entourage. They had all the biz seats and I was in Row 7 sat next to (one of) his speech writers who spent the flight editing a hard copy of an upcoming speech. Must of been an early draft as there was only 6 lines in large font per page. Plenty of room for notes/edits I suppose. Interesting.

I thought the article was humorous and on target. I don't read the tele, but I enjoy a good roast and Tim S is prime material. Media Watch regularly reports on the goes that Alan Jones has at him and his name. What a ridiculous thing to get upset about.

My father is a Colonel in the Army now retired but on his BP sometimes has Col and then his name. FA regularly will say Col he either just accepts it and sometimes will not even take any notice and then they might repeat it again and then will correct them.

Thanks to the abundance of Rs and Zs in my first and surname, some Chinese born speakers have problems saying either of my names and I recall one particular FA that tried her hardest and eventually I became Mrs Husbands-first-name because even his surname was difficult for her.

Didnt know I should get butt hurt. Theres a form for that on the internet, must find it.

People with long, difficult names shouldn't get offended if others can't pronounce their name properly. Otherwise, change / shorten it by deed poll

Given his track record of weird and dubious interpretations of all things at the HRC, I can well imagine that Dr S would test the patience of many people who have to interact with him, including FAs.
His propensity to take offence at the drop of a hat is actually highly offensive in itself. Hopefully he will soon follow Triggs out the door of the HRC.

My surname is only 6 letters, but very frequently people pronounce and spell it wrong, even adding an extra letter in!
Take today for example:
I forgot to get a doctor's note on Friday at the ultrasound, so rang them up today. Operator could verify I had an appointment with Mrs AS. They confirmed I had the same last name as her. I spelled out my email address (firstname.lastname) for them to send it to me. Got the email and they'd spelled my last name wrong on the note, adding in an extra letter. Right below it, they'd copy pasted Mrs AS name in full with the correct spelling. SMH

Lucky for him that he wasn't promoted before he retired. Then they would've called him Brig, rather than Col.
