Just watch out though, depending on what you are signing up for, you may work out better off by using a different promotion as may be the case from time to time. For example, we recently signed up using "free19" which gave a free month; as we were signing up to a $79/month plan that worked out better for us as a new customer.

I've been with ABB for close to 2 years and they've been flawless over that time. I'm signed up to a 100/40 plan via FTTB and see a consistent 95/38 all day every day, with very low domestic and international latency. They continually reinvest in their own network and are the most transparent of the major NBN RSP.

Aussie Broadband is a fantastic provider. I selected them after hearing good things about them and after having problems with a slightly cheaper provider. I have been really happy with them for the 18 months that I've been with them. I've called them a couple of times and it is great to get a knowledgeable person in an Australian call centre to answer the phone.

Another strange but useful fact: their DNS is actually good. It's the only one (other than Telstra recently) consistently faster than cloudfront public free DNS on bench tests I've done over the last few months.

Previous isps have all been slower.

This company definitely does the best thing by its customers — this time by passing on wholesale price drops to their customers. My experience with them continues to be top notch and I have no hesitations recommending them to my friends and family.

Agreed. Their service has been great throughout this period. Streaming, videoconferencing etc. have all been flawless.

I just went to have a look at their current plans and found the 100/40 500GB plan for which I'm paying $85 is now $95 for new sign ups.

It seems the new 100/20 tier has slotted in with the old 100/40 pricing. I assume ABB would be within their rights to bump me up to $95 given I'm on a month-to-month agreement, will be interesting to see whether they do.

I was also surprised to find their 100/20 unlimited pricing is identical to TPG's, $10 cheaper than iiNet, and a whopping $20 cheaper than Telstra (who seemingly only offer 100mbps to FTTP and HFC customers.... wat?)

They're introducing ultra-fast residential plans up to 1Gbit/s down that will be available as of this Friday.

1Gbit/50Mbit unlimited - $149/mth
250Mbit/25Mbit unlimited - $129/mth

Aussie Broadband is yet to update their website but you can read the announcement on Whirlpool here: NBN ultra-fast 1000/50 plans - Aussie Broadband - Whirlpool Forums

A note about the expected speeds from the announcement above: "Because this is a new plan, we don't yet know what the typical evening peak speed will be, so you'll notice that our Critical Information Summary and Key Fact Sheets for now just list the 250 plan peak evening speeds. We think the plan should achieve off-peak speeds of up to 80-90%, depending on the technology type."

Oh now I'm going to have to seriously consider a TCP upgrade from fttc!

I'm in the identical boat to you. I actually expect them to grandfather the plan. I'll be rather annoyed if they don't actually.
