Tried a few dummy bookings with CP GC last week and this week for DEC and FEB and no luck for a discount or breakfast.

Unlike most of the hotels that one is up for a busy time over the period, so that's not surprising, once the IC comes onboard it might be worth revisiting to see if they have loaded some of the specials.

Tempted by the CP GC, but I've heard over time that it really is in need of a touch up at least and is a bit dumpie these days - let alone being between BB and Surfers

It was renovated recently and is quite nice, with the Ocean Executive rooms being the pick, with a massive marble bathroom.

I'm probably getting confused with the Gold Tower property (again...)

However the issue of it being between Broadbeach and Surfers remains. I am wondering if it is worth the $46/night premium over the Vibe Surfers Paradise (though obviously breakfast for 2 is thrown in which is of benefit)

Yes that was my plan to check the new IC when it opens for bookings, even thought its only a 10 min drive from my house ...

I think it's a great location, you are close to a safer beach than Surfers which is the most dangerous beach on the coast, and with the light rail work away from the traffic congestion. Broadbeach and the Casino is a good stroll but walkable .

Might go for it then, only 2 nights after all. Thanks for the help! :)

No worries, until the IC comes along its a regular, they also give PC members drink chits etc. If you want a meal, try the bar around in the side street thats still part of the hotel, essentially room service menu at 33% of the pricing. There is a BWS two blocks away that helps with the mini bar bill, they have adopted a trick many hotels do now and stock a wine not sold in retail so dont think you can drink then replace ;)
