From reports, before Christmas some AP contractors were routinely leaving cards for parcels when the people were home (not attempting to deliver so probably not even knocking on the door before running away )

Same here & 99.9% of the time the local PO is great. They make the effort to know your christian name to enter on the scanner. They reflect small town service despite the organisation they work for.We had great service before Xmas including Saturday deliveries.
The one time the post office couldnt find a parcel that Id been carded for, was because they had filed it under the senders surname and not my own....
I love our local post office. It changed hands just over a year ago and the previous owner taught the new owner to look after me well, including not needing to sight ID to collect parcels. Plus if I drop in to post stuff, he always lets me know if there is something there for me to collect.

I love my local PO... but when you move the PO boxes 5k down the road I lose the love
You know Auspost must be bad when TNT is better.Last month, I sent a parcel to my niece via Aussie Post that cost $34 and took 5 business days to deliver, 7 days in total.
Last week, I sent a parcel to my niece via TNT that cost approx $25 (cant remember exactly but less than Aussie Post) and it took 18 hours to deliver. Yes, less than 24hrs and it was in her hands.
I wont be sending her any more care packages via Aussie Post.
Napoleon got 3 deliveries a day from Paris when he was at Waterloo.Postal services have certainly gone backwards.
Dear old dad tells that in London during WW2 there were three postal deliveries per day, you could post a letter in the morning and it would be delivered across London and arrive in the evening of the same day and during the war.
