It seems that since the travel restrictions began, Australia Post has suspended letter & parcel services to many countries.

I need to send a letter from Australia to Austria but Australia Post won't accept it. All deliveries to Austria have been suspended since March.

Any thoughts on how I can send this?

I think I might have to first send the letter to a friend in another country that Australia Post will mail to, then ask them to mail a new envelope from there to Austria. Alternatively, are there any other providers besides Australia Post that I can use to send a letter from Australia to another country? Or do they have a monopoly on letters?

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine it would be so hard to send a letter... :(

TNT is also be another option to send a parcel to Austria.

Send me a PM with a postcode and will give you an idea on price and time frame.
we used to be able send parcels to NZ and would take 1 to 2 days now TNT are quoting 4 to 5 days.

We received a parcel today that was sent 28 May from Switzerland, the parcel spent 4 days in Dubai and almost 2 weeks in Singapore.

Open up the borders.

Can't you send it in an express envelope instead? Might also try fedex or similar.

According to Australia Post's website, they won't accept anything at all bound for Austria, express or otherwise.

FedEx may work, but looks like they're charging $102.70 per letter! (Normally I'd expect to pay around $3.20 for the slow option with Australia Post.)

You can send a letter / documents via DHL. It’s very exxy but super fast and reliable.

I'm finding it quite hard to find information about how that works with DHL, but looks like to send a document (up to 500g) to Austria is about $89? I am at least quite sure that DHL is reliable.

I don't need to send a parcel, just a single A4 sheet of paper. 😲

A fax is not sufficient? or a scanned document through a certified document handing system?

Looks like postal services have resumed to a few more countries, including Austria.

International Standard and Express services have resumed to Pakistan, Iran, Austria, Philippines, Myanmar and Bangladesh as of 7th August.
