All Tas hospital cases were admitted for non-covid reasons.

Yesterday's update to all THS staff said that 1 was admitted for covid. This was the public release.Note that now over 92% of >12s fully vaccinated.

The NT has instituted a "Lockout" due to the rise in cases. However, it only applies to those who are not fully vaccinated.

256 is a high number for NT. NT previously used lockouts (which allow freedoms only to fully vaxxed) in localised areas. Now Territory wide.

23 hospital patients (including 2 ICU) with/for covid in a public hospital system with apparently under 1000 beds and 20 ICU beds.

Nightclubs to close, surgery restricted as ‘safety measures’ return to NSW

The NSW government is preparing to announce a major reversal of COVID-19 restrictions by shutting nightclubs, banning singing and dancing in pubs, and pausing major events and some elective surgery in response to the state’s surging Omicron caseload.

The changes were expected to be finalised on Friday after NSW recorded 70,000 coronavirus cases in two days and a significant increase in the number of hospitalised patients, government sources not authorised to speak publicly said on Thursday night.

In my area - Darlinghurst and Kings Cross - there’s hardly any nightclubs left anyway. Years of restrictions and overzealous policing have killed most of them before covid.

ARQ sydney which was being used as file footage on Sunrise this morning has been on the market for redevelopment as apartments for the last few months.
