But at what point would it make sense for vaccinated to be allowed additional privileges? Do we really have to wait until everyone who wants to be vaccinated has been vaccinated?

Remember this is only because states insist on virus elimination. If governments were more realistic and living in the real world this conversation would be moot.

Doesn't bother me at I should be fully vaccinated in the next month but that doesn't mean I think it's fair.

We're not allowed to discuss the reasons for this on AFF. But it's pretty easy to understand why, and why the media are selective in reporting dramatising issues in some states and not others.

And the AMA hasn’t exactly been a beacon of unbiased information either, never has, never will be. But they sound ‘official’ so lots of people just buy what they sell without paying :)

Though...

COMMENT If accurate as it would be a new case, contact tracing would have been minimal as yet and so could well be linked after more complete investigation.

Great testing and vaccination rates as well - again! And only 5 cases...... good news again.

Yes at 686 tests/100,000 people is one of the higher testing days on a given day in the pandemic.

Relative to population size on the day of testing some other notable testing rates include:
  • SA with 983, 952, 924, 914 and 681 is the Australian Record Holder.
  • NT had one day at 823
  • NSW highest have been 855, 737 and another at 545
  • Vic's highest was yesterday at 857 and was at 718 the day prior.
  • Qld highest was 682

So with the last 3 days, testing rates at 718, 855 and 686 is very good.

Update on the aged care worker: Worker had had their first dose, but not all residents had.

View attachment 249167

If I'd been vaccinated and other residents had refused to be vaccinated despite living in aged care, (assuming they'd been given the chance) then I'd be thinking that there has to be a better way than locking me down. Again.

At this stage we don't know that they refused. They may have of course.

It may be that some where unwell, or away etc, when most were done. Some may have had conditions which prevent vaccination. It may also be that some were to get Pfizer and some AZ and so where done in different stages.

Yes I understand all that. But in the months to come, let’s say for the aged care situation - September is reasonable for all the catch ups to be done leaving only refusals, then as a fully vaccinated aged care resident I’d expect not to be locked up again.
