Blatant ad!

Delinquent and I won't be using our gold passes to the spitfire stand on Sunday so I have. 2 passes to transfer to the quickest AFF member with cash!
If you're interested let me know or I will put them on EBay Tuesday night
They cost me 160 each but I'm happy to negotiate!

Did you move them?

Was anyone else really underwhelmed at the air show this year? I haven't been in 6 years as i've not been in the country when they're on, but it seemed like pretty much the same stuff again. The F-18 was cool to watch flying around (holy noisy batman). The C-17 was nice. The highlight for me was chatting to the pilot of the B-52 that was in, as he explained the bombing configuration and how much one of those puppies can carry. Quite impressive (and was obvious how much he loved the aircraft).

If I had to pay the $60 entry I would have been left feeling ripped off (along with the $10 parking). I went on a trade day and it was good to wander around without the billion people that usually turn up.

Or am I too critical?

I agree, same same as previous years. I really enjoyed 2009 when both the Qantas A380 and VA 777 were on show. This is the first time I went to trade days however, and I found that a hell of a lot better than public days.

I'm a huge aviation geek, but I probably wouldn't pay to go again.

I've bought a Gold Pass both times I've been ('11 and '13) and it hasn't been anything special both times. Granted, this time I only arrived at about 5:40pm on Friday after SYD delays ...

But yeah, either general admission or try and get a trade pass for '15 for me. I'm not a huge military aviation geek, so the fast jets do get boring after the first couple of passes. The F-22 was the only aircraft on display that I hadn't seen fly before.

I don't think it had the wow factor it's had in the past (or are we so much harder to please??) the bombing run was a bit of a let down, 2 years ago they had soldiers running around including a blackhawk landing on the runway etc along wit the bombing run.

I missed the trade days this year and that was a bummer as there are no queues to speak of! so we never bothered to look in any aircraft this year, but you miss all the antique planes.

I did like the F-22 although it wasn't put through all it's paces. for me i enjoyed the acrobatics. Knowing the piloting skills involved in those maneuvers made me more in awe.

Perhaps as you say we really are just getting harder to please.

That's a great pic too!

I was waiting for you to say that the Gold Pass wasn't good value for money this year..... ;)
