As soon as he gets back from Burma. Seeing as we talk in code these days,...is there a credit card issue with the GUM plan?

I was being sarcastic. I wouldn't fly United economy if it was free.

Excellent! Thanks for the ongoing feedback.

No worries :-)

I am considering this SYD-BKK-CDG as the opening leg of a RTW starting ex SYD next year. Had seen there is a long stopover at BKK but it appears that wasnt too painful?

No, far from painful - very enjoyable actually :-) ~8 hours is a bit longer than ideal, but between massages, food, wine and a walk around BKK airport the time goes quickly. I reckon 4-6 hours would be an ideal stopover length but 8 is fine - and I'd definitely choose longer over shorter if you have to make that choice.

Yep, Gary sponging off AFF as well as FT. I think he thinks people are more open over here, not that that would be hard.

sponging is it? What is it with people on this forum and on flyertalk who think they own information.

some people put in a lot of hard work on AFF and ft regarding these deals, and the FAQs that come with them. lots of work was done putting together the mileage charts for lifemiles and working out all the cash plus miles options. similarly for the star alliance US bookings, lots of work goes into those posts.

we all share because we give and we get.

we don't post the information on commercial websites. I can understand if Gary did all the research himself, that's fine. but referencing people across to other boards where all the work has been done?? so that he can make a profit?? hmmm...

I loved this comment most in the criticism on Gary´s blog:

¨You guys are so beyond the pale – in that you have become coughs for CC dollars – that is sad to see¨

I know this is a ¨public forum¨, but when I post here it is to chat with fellow AFF members. I do not like that our contributions are actively broadcast via third parties.

well if you don't want the information in the public forum don't put it on the internet, simple as that. I have contributed to this thread too and I don't care if a blogger who is being paid links to it, or discusses it. If someone wants to make a business venture out of it then good for them! Don't forget the owner(s) of AFF are also making revenue from ads .

... I'm the only member and 25 guests browsing this thread.
Many of those "guests" are 'bots' or "web crawlers" logging page information for entities such as Google, MSN etc .

Well unfortunately for you the internet is rather a global thing, so if you don't want information to go worldwide then don't bother using the WORLD wide web.

Really, that's interesting. Because in other place you specifically threatened me that if I didn't share info on trick cities with you would kill this deal by sending info to a list of blogs including 'view from the wing'...and lo and behold a few days later...there is it, link to AFF n'all! Hmmmm.
