re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Thanks Mel Traveller

Looks like a positioning flight to SIN is in order

I would certainly try the screenshot method for an NH/SQ combo if that's what you want. They'll get back to you in 24 hours to tell you if it can be booked. Plus the advantage of a single ticket will save a lot of potential mucking around.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I've emailed LM asking them to send me e-ticket for flights booked a while ago and got this reply:

"Regarding your request, we have verified your reservation; which shows departure time changes in the flight. In order to confirm your itinerary, you should get in contact with our Avianca's Call Center as the ticket must be synchronized with the new schedule times."

Since when we need to call LM to confirm time changes? I had minor changes a few times before (this one is 30 min) and never had to confirm any by phone.

If you punch your PNR into the EgyptAir site (Manage My Booking), it will bring up your booking and ask if you want to acknowledge the change. Press Yes and it will be synchronised

Here's a weird one. Looking at possibly being in HKG end of Jan/Feb next year. Nothing available on One World for HKG-SYD so I play around with the LM site and this pops up

It's actually able to be booked !! I love flying and all but I don't think I'm that keen

Hum - looks a bit like the 'old' days when LM would come up with some pretty off-the-wall routings (which of course led to tricked-routes which in turn led to LM shutting these down so even valid sensible routing no longer show up).

Flew one (Feb) last year: MEL-SIN-ICN-NKG (SQ/SQ/OZ) on one Aus-Asia J award.

Noooooo!!!!! I hate TG!!!! They've done it again!!!!

My trip to Tokyo in Feb next year has been downgraded once again. They substituted A330 with 747 which means no first class again!!!! The worst thing is, as the outgoing flight is the one that gets downgraded, I won't get access to first class lounge!

I think I'm gonna cancel this booking.

As long as you arrive into BKK on TG F you will be allowed to use the TG F lounge during transit prior to business class to Tokyo. however there is no guarantee of an hour massage in that scenario (although they may grant it).

Departing Tokyo, if in business class, you can only use the business class lounge.

Are you sure? The lounge access states it has to be royal first passenger departing on the same day, not arriving passengers.

I will shoot a complain email to them and see their response, but it's the second time they've done it.

There is >7hr layover and I purposely picked this because I want to enjoy more on this lounge. If no massage, no first class lounge access, no point wasting 7 hrs. There are so many other options now, ANA J or even JAL F.

Wanted to travel GVA-LHR; was offered a double SK option via ARN. Same cost as a direct. Go figure.

I learned from FT TG forums that arrival in F is sufficient for access to the F Lounge, as long as your next flight is on an international TG flight. For F spa services, unless you're flying out on TG F, then maybe you won't get those.

Well it didn't work for me (the system didn't recognise my booking) so I called LM USA toll free number, they answered immediately and solve the issue in less then 5 minutes.

It was the shortest SKYPE call to LM EVER!

That's probably a fair refelction of the star alliance rules - but individual airlines have their own independent lounge access policies.

Many airlines will offer connecting F->J pax access based on the arriving flight (especially if no F on the connection). Among those are CX, OZ, LX, LH.
