re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Woo-hoo!!! The end of the glitch!!!

Somehow I doubt that right - although it has been a year now!

I wish.... Somehow the term benefit, enhancement to me = devaluation.... You can tell I'm the pessimistic one of the bunch.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Was searching flights in J BNE-ICN and got:
BNE-YVR AC36
YVR-ICN AC63
Total 40K points.

Can't stop in Canada (unfortunately) and I really wanna try AC B787 J product but this 30 hours journey may be just a little too crazy, even for me :D

You can throw away the last leg. Then you have BNE-YVR for only 40k.

That's the idea behind this route but as I said I can't stop in Canada. I decided to post this route hoping it will be useful for others.

I think you should do it. The Trip Report board is looking a bit empty at the moment!

Trying to log into LM and just get this message -

We're working to give you more benefits!
!Estamos trabajando para ofrecerte ms beneficios!

Imagine if they are giving us a booking engine that works! Just imagine....
Sometimes getting something that works takes away some of the flexibility, so be careful what you wish for. The last fix, as we all know, removed some good routes and made even simple routes hard, it would in my view be a mistake to think that any update necessarily benefits us.

The seat is best in the industry, ie, reverse herringbone. But food and service is a bit behind... AC's business class food is the only airline food that I can't finish, that includes economy class.

Yes, it is a nice routing!

I agree. Yes it was a big inconvenience with the screenshot but we've got it working and working very well. What I'm afraid is some current routing such as SYD-ORD/JFK/LAX/BRU that requires change of airport from HND to NRT might be gone. Apparently with screenshots they won't do it for you cuz it's different airport.

In a way I'm glad I just booked my SYD-ORD with NH.

Eventually went for the more "sane" routing via SIN but other TRs will come soon ;)

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Lifemiles is back online. The glitch is still there. I can't see anything changed.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Seems some changes to region definitions?

Weird. I redeemed MNL-NRT in J on 9 September 2015, and it was 22,500 points.

But looking at the chart - if Philippines was previously in South Asia - it should have been 36,000 points?

Another example that actual geography is quite irrelevant when airlines define regions.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Changes don't really affect us aussies.

If anything it's better North Asia is 10k cheaper in F

Before I waste any more time looking for this, are you saying Australia to North Asia is now 40k in F?

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

So now SYD-BKK-HKG on TG F is 50K?

Sounds like a positive change to me :)
