Has anyone had any success getting from Sydney to US East coast via Atlantic routing?

My email today says until the 28th.

New award search interface is now effective. The results page looks and works much better. A few other improvements:

- It now shows you number of seats available for every cabin class on a given date (FWIW).
- Scrolling forward through the five day calendar search moves forward two days at a time without losing some dates as before.
- New search feature at the top of results page is handy.

Anyone found any glitches or able to reconfirm existing ones yet?

You do a search and some of the options for a day, or other days...are for completely different arrival and departure airports than specified...that's a common one.

New Lifemiles website issues. I have been looking at flights PVG-MEL for a future booking. With the old website search engine I get flights with TG coming up via BKK . However using the 'new' search engine all the flights disappear.-using Thai and Star alliance search (see pics below) However if I do a search on the new search interface with PVG-BKK & then BKK -MEL they show up. (will need screenshot method to book these.) That's a minus for the 'latest update'

I was able to be book mixed J/F with mixed airlines in one booking online paying the rate of J (itinerary posted in the relevant thread) so this is a positive enhancement.

On the negative side, I can't find any LH F availability or even TG mixed J/F using single airline search which sucks as those used to be my favourite redemptions lately.

I'm finding some LH F - for example 1 October ORD-MUC. although that seems to return an error message if you try to proceed (theoretically screen shot). Interesting there's some Air China showing as well... 1 Oct PVG-FRA routes via PEK on CA F. Clicking on the button proceeds to the next step rather than the 'error' message.

I'd read the few reviews of CA F. It makes TG sound like LH F o_O

No experience with CA F here (and no particular desire to try it either) but regarding TG vs LH I think overall the latter is not much superior. They both offer excellent ground services and decent onboard experience. Maybe service and wine list on LH are slightly better as well as the bed which is slightly more comfortable but in all honesty I think the biggest attraction of LH (and LX) is the fact they are hard to book as opposed to TG.

and the old search interface is back again... the website is going very slow overall. Perhaps another attempt in the works.

You've mentioned service, wine list and bed being better on LH, add to that the amenities (TG significantly behind on the design and quality). I'd also argue the food is better, but that's subjective.

I'm undecided whether to take the plunge with the current LM offer. I have no existing points with it.

My main interest is one-way J SYD to East Coast USA or Eastern Canada, mid-2018. However I could not a single date that was not "sold out". Just for an experiment, I tried dates this year and found only a few very long routes via NZ.I thought I had finally found one in F, but when I looked the details, the whole flight was actually economy (but still priced at 105k points).

Is it always this bad? Or is this one of the "glitches"?

I'm assuming it can't be that bad all the time, otherwise nobody would every use it.

Yes I am seeing the old search engine with unfortunately no ANA availability at all. They are good as fly from different US cities. So already next year we have 2xF awards on ANA from IAH and SFO.Will be sad if they are not going to show on LM.

With the very ordinary interface (which still hasn't improved IMO) and what I find as a hassle for some bookings that need the screen shot method, I decided that maybe I won't top up LM any more. I have a flight coming up in Feb but that might be it.
I suppose I might change my mind in the future though.:)
