thanks for the data point regarding screenshots. I was concerned four might be pushing it.

Using screenshots allows us to push all kinds of creative routings because the booking is done manually by people who don’t always follow the guidelines. Some tend to complain about the online system being unreliable while missing the huge potential of the screenshot method.
In some ways LM reminds me of USDM (RIP).

Wow, you could be on to something here boomer. Might have to try this out on one of my LM accounts that are running low.

Please report back if you do it. I’m curious to know if it was once off mistake or something else.

Seats are available but I think I am being too ambitious with my booking. I am trying for a 24 hour layover in BKK ..thats probably why they cant see it. Might have to shorten the layover for the next attempt...lol

I got > 24hr stopover approved once but it was mistake. To be safe go for < 24hr, even 23.59 should get easily approved.

There were rumours floating around last year that LM was going to end the screen shot booking option... what you see on line was all you were going to be able to book. Thankfully that doesn’t appear to have materialised.

My requested itinerary came through in the end. LM agents can be pretty good really :)

Good outcome. Was it an unusual itinerary?
You can share in the dedicated thread to give members more ideas about good value LM routings.

Just a standard itinerary. The only noticeable thing was they charged the full 115K from Europe to AU for a mixed class booking whereas previous itineraries were coming in at 101K

Been a couple of years since i've used LM. A few questions if y'all wouldn't mind

1. Can someone please remind me where the sweetspot sits in terms of miles vs points? from memory it was somewhere between 40-60%?
2. if the preferred itinerary doesn't show up - can you still use screenshots? (but it is throwing up other options)
3. any way to tell if it is showing phantom availability - e.g. shows 1st class when connecting, but doing a direct flight it only shows biz

cheers

Just booked
SYD-BKK-MUC TG F
MUC-LHR

Return as per @boomy on LH F with a connecting LHR-FRA at the beginning.
LHR departure added to the taxes but all up 230K Miles and $456
Departure date is July.

Just keep an eye on your SYD-BKK sector, there has been talk again of TG taking the 747's off this route and thus losing F.

PF if we ever meet the drinks are on me. Read a few weeks ago about LH having some availability in F, checked my date in August from FRA to any East Coast USA location. Had J booked on United but wanted LH F to tick off something on the bucket list and most importantly get the rubber ducky. Could not find anything. On a lazy Sunday afternoon read your post and that inspired me to check again. FRA to BOS here we come. Thanks so much for posting.

The roumurs about TG swapping their 747s are going on for months. They can pull of SYD anytime from next week to next year, the fact is NO ONE seems to know exactly so I wouldn’t hold off booking TG F based on roumurs.

And with new routes opening up (for either the 787s or the 777s they've replaced) I'm not sure there's an immediate demand to pull the 747 off SYD?
