LM are ignoring all my emails since May 24.
Has anyone managed to do a screenshot booking lately?

There is another poster on Flyertalk with the same problem.

Yes, I have had a similar problem, although mine wasn't a screenshot booking rather a problem with my password locking my account for no apparent reason. Not answering emails at all.

Amazing..I got a reply from an email I sent 6 days ago. They must be reading the foums (hi guys! :) )

I thought mixed classed bookings were doable with the screenshot method?

I got a reply of : "According to our policies, mixed priced tickets are now priced per segment therefore this itinerary is quoted at 124,500"

This was for an Others-North Asia(62,500) F booking CBR-SIN-BKK in J...BKK-NRT in F.

I’m not convinced about their rationale. Mixed class bookings, across different carriers, have been permitted at the ‘through fare’ when using the screenshot method. Unless this is change like as of 1 june?

if so, it hasn’t been communicated.

It might be that they don’t like the routing?

Maybe I just got the wrong support rep? Hopefully there isn't a new change.

Looks like I'll have to do the last leg in J.

The terms and conditions still reference the availability of mixed cabin awards:

Redemption of award tickets in mixed cabins (meaning combining segments in economy, business or first class) is allowed under the following conditions:
  • Mixed cabins are only allowed when there is no availability on the preferred cabin selected when searching any of the segments in the Origen/Destination. If the member does not select a preferred cabin the search will be made in Economy Class.
  • Mixed cabins are only allowed between the selected preferred cabin and inferior cabins.
  • If for a segment there is more tan one cabin available, the combination will be made with the highest cabin available.
  • The mileage needed for the whole award ticket corresponds to the mileage for the highest cabin.
  • Reimbursement and date change conditions for the award ticket are the conditions of the highest cabin of the ticket.
  • Date changes are subject to availability. If there is no availability on the redeemed cabin on the desired date, if the member chooses to do so, cabin changes are allowed. Change in cabins (even to an inferior cabin) will not result in a redeposit of the redeemed miles. For date changes to proceed at least one of the segments of each Origen/Destination must be on the highest cabin redeemed.
Although, LM agents are usually pretty good. So maybe there is some new rule :(

Just saw on FT that most J availability is gone on SQ and Thai from Asia to Australia. My quick search confirms this. Yikes. Any one else seen this?

Question to those who flew AC F recently, does it worth adding 12.5K miles to fly SYD-PEK-ICN F/J instead of SYD-ICN direct on OZ J?

Probably not! But I would :) The pros: novelty factor. And F is F - better seating, dedicated crew. The cons: a lot longer journey time, and PEK airport.

Here's a review by onemileatatime (different plane, but it will give you an idea of the meal service and amenities): Review: Air China First Class 747-8 San Francisco To Beijing - One Mile at a Time

Thanks! The TR confirms my conception of AC F - good seats, cough f&b. PEK airport is definitely my biggest concern, it’s really bad. The biggest pro is overnight flight compared to daytime on OZ. Despite a longer journey AC get to ICN at 11am compared to 7pm on OZ.

Another option is SQ J SYD-CBR-SIN-ICN arrives at 3pm.
Decisions decisions...

Well - with the absence of f&b you'll be able to concentrate on sleep :) SQ J isn't really conducive to sleep on this routing - short sectors that will give maybe three to four hours of shut-eye.

Not sure how that route works in terms of meal service but if having dinner and few drinks on the domestic leg then can have 5-6hr sleep on the 8hr CBR-SIN leg.
What’s sucks about this route is the A330 to ICN with uncomfortable J seats.

Just a small refreshment on the SYD-CBR leg. The flight is blocked at 8 hours CBR-SIN, but I think actual flying time is around 7 hours. You might be able to eek out 5 hours sleep if you skipped a meal.

Update: Looks like I got a bad rep.
I got a reply to a third email I sent (from a different address) when they weren't replying. I called up Yesterday and paid the taxes .

SQ-J-TG-F booked :)

I've got 8 hours of A330 joy coming up...ADL-SIN.
Hopefully they are not that bad? I've never flown SQ J on the A330.

Out of all the angled lie flats I thought SQ did the best job with these - flat enough to sleep without feeling like you're sliding.

I’ve been on SQ A330 twice last year and thought the seat was bit narrow and lacked padding. On one of those journeys I’ve connected to OZ A330 and found their seat (also angled) much more comfortable.
