re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

i don't much care for the TG A380 configuration. Prefer the 747 (any config). They could have done so much better on the A380 :(

I haven't been in F on another A380 (or airline!) but I'd agree they could have done better and I'm sure others have. I didn't feel like their F was that far ahead of Emirates J on the A380.

Having said all that, I'm just thankful I got the chance to fly F at all, something I never thought I'd be able to afford!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

It used to be that the newest 747s had the 14F config...now the newest 747s do have the 9F config...which seems to make a lot more sense!

The 9F configuration is very good. We took it last year from BKK-LHR and enjoyed the seats and service immensely, on midday departure from BKK (using NZ airpoints).

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I booked SYD-BKK-FRA-NCE and PRG-FRA-BKK-SYD for my girlfriend, mix of TG and LH, all in J. She had no problems on any of the flights, just treated as a normal J PAX.

Incidentally, I flew back to SYD on the same flights but in F. I had thought that we wouldn't have access to the F lounge in FRA as we were ticketed by TG, but they took us in no problems which was great. The F service at the airports is great, and the TG A380 FRA-BKK was very good. However, the old 747 F cabin on the flight BKK-SYD is pretty coughpy. I'd be VERY disappointed if I was a full paying F PAX on that route!!

So you flew F whilst the girlfriend was back in J… How did that go down?! :)

Anyone interested?

CDG-HKT departing on 20/3/14, routing CDG-xBKK-xCPH-HKT 41h 55minutes wahahhaah 65,000 points flying TG931, TG952, TG 953

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

How much is it?

It's 65,000 LM plus some taxes. The routing is more to highlight how to get to HKT the long way ... via 3 long J haul flights.

Now if I can pull up a F routing and I'll jump on it straight away hahahah

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Interesting that TG have a direct, non-stop service from CPH to HKT!

2 flights daily CPH-HKT and just 1 CPH-BKK.
Edit: Correction, only one is TG, the other is SAS

Posting these quirks so blatantly is really not helping anybody.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Anyone have any idea when the next miles bonus will be? I was really silly in December and forgot to purchase miles, and am now regretting it!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

If you have lifemiles in your account, you can effectively "buy" miles by booking a ticket with the "more money, less miles option" (but just go as far as the sweet spot of average 1.5 cents per mile), pay for the ticket, and then cancel the ticket. You will incurr some additional charges for cancellation, and the taxes will take a few weeks to get back to you, but your newly "bought" miles will drop into your account quite quickly

Just a heads up guys (and gals)...

Cancelled a Lifemiles booking last month for flights in North America and got points back so thought all was fine. Accidentally typed the booking reference into the Check my Trip website today and found the booking there for March for Avianca flight Medellin to Bogota with our names on it........hmmmmmm....

Waiting for reply from Avianca, will let you know what eventuates. Think i'm going to check my cancellations in future and suggest others do so as well.
