re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

A lot of the new enhanced routes seem to be erroring out ... anyone managed to price?

Yes. I got a few dummy mixed class bookings to the point where you enter traveler details. i.e after pricing.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I meant routings previously not allowed that are now allowed are erroring out - even simple ones like SYD-BKK-NRT

I am having the same issue. Maybe the mixed class was the enhancement, and the rest is just new glitches. The post your successful thread will tell us the answer to this hypothesis

Given only a handful of *A airlines offer intl F class (SQ, NH, OZ, UA, LH, LX, TG, AI, CA) and of these, several are not available to LMs (almost all SQ, LX, LH beyond T-14), I don't suppose there's a master list of F routes available through LMs now that this pesky 'no mixed class' rule has been removed? It means you can consider flying F to any destination by tacking on a J or Y leg, rather than just those destinations F is flown to.

If one doesn't exist, we could probably create one ourselves (I could easily do TG's and NH's). It would be enormously helpful to us all for planning future travel.

would be wonderful- but double edged sword, as it will no doubt be swiped by a lazy blogger and proliferated around.

Eh, who cares. The bloggers probably already have such a list.

Or, like the majority of people in the game, they have "a list" committed to memory anyway.

In any case, I thought there was a list of F routes on the Star Alliance forum in Flyertalk (I think it was primarily created as a handy reference for FFers but also for those creating RTW tickets) but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it were not up to date.

One would also seek to create a list that further details which kind of F product is on each route. This can be quite important to some people, e.g. TG F in 388, 744 or 346 (I assume TG's aged "747"s do not exist anymore); or OZ F in 74E, 77L or 388. CA has a mess of F products which fly to God knows how many different places.

I wouldn't mind contributing to a list. Needless to say, we went through a huge era of US in *A flogging every F product left, right and centre without the benefit of a list!

The problem with detailing aircraft type would be that it is constantly changing. TG changes the aircraft type on its Japan routes everything they do a schedule update. Maybe listing the flight numbers would be enough - people can easily Google the flight number to see what aircraft is scheduled for when.

I didn't know AI had F class until last week (noting it's probably rubbish)

Is anyone interested in doing this list? We could do one airline each (ill put my hand up for TG and NH).

The problem with flight numbers is that it is damn well annoying! :) But fair call on the equipment changing as well, though TG's change habits on Japanese routes is nigh onto the definition of enigmatic.

AI's F class is due to disappear soon, I think. One reason why OMAAT is somewhat willing to get in before it goes.

One interesting thing checking airlines like LH would be seeing how many "not so longhaul" destinations are served by F. For example, destinations in the former Soviet republics. For UA, it would be checking all destinations in Latin America.

Maybe we could start by doing the easy ones and see if its worth doing the hard ones (LH and UA).

They need this feature in the search

[ ] Show mixed cabins
[x] Do not show mixed cabins

Fat chance (though we can dream). Airline search engines have been around for donkeys years and they have never put in such a feature, let alone made it easy to filter them out effectively. This applies to cash fares as well.

I guess that can get a bit testy with, for example, F search results which have a long Y and short F itinerary (e.g. involving CA domestic).

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Has anyone found SQ A380/77W J availability more than 14 days out?
Yes. I tried a MEL - MLE route in Sept 2016 and it came back with J on the 773/W (SQ236) for the MEL-SIN leg.

Assuming you mean SQ238 (because SQ236 is a BNE-SIN flight) it's 773 operated, so the answer to the question is no. 773 = regional business class seating, 77W = SQ's long haul business class product.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Hi Guys,

Has anyone experienced that they have selected the flights and at the payment page, but have not yet proceeded - and then closed the window.
After that restart to do the same flights on the same dates but it is no longer available?

Did I take the flight I wanted off the system? And would it return since I never actually finished booking it?

Thanks
