re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

This looks like their best ever offer (except for the AUD of course). For newbies to LM just be award of the pros and cons of the program before you jump in.

Their best offer was with 50% I believe. I also saw 40% or 35% before.

This offer is 0.143c per mile. I remember cheapest I got was 0.013X. AUD now might actually be a little better when they offered those.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I remember 135% being the best offer where you would get 25% directly from Lifemiles and the additional 10% buying via another site.

that is in USD and is actually 1.43c per mile!! In AUD it is nearly 1.9c per mile. Have a week to decide....

That's the best deal I can remember...

Can you setup an account then buy straight away?

No. In the past you have to have an existing account to take the offer. You can sign up now and see if you are eligible. If not, just wait for the next round which I believe will be in Dec

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

either the reports on slowing air travel are true and / or avianca is keen for a quick cash injection.

still quite flush with points in other programs so will prob skip this one. the cyber sale in nov usually has a decent offer.

last year there were 2 offers for 150% bonus and another earlier this year (i think) for 140 or 145%... so this is good, but not the best ever.
unless you need them immediately might be worth holding out for another cyber monday sale like last year when they they ran up to 140-150%

Just did a bit of searching after your post. The cheapest LM ever got was USD 1.32 c per mile when they had a 150% points promo:
Great Deal: Buy LifeMiles With A 150% Bonus - One Mile at a Time

At the bottom of Lucky's thread below, there is a list of Lifemiles' previous promo dates and costs so it may help you predict the future!

Great Deal: Buy Avianca LifeMiles With A 130% Bonus - One Mile at a Time

With the Aussie dollar higher this offer is better than the 150% offer I bought in October last year.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Did they used to have these big bonus offers when the AUD/USD was at parity and over??

Somehow I don't think the value of the AUD has any impact on these LM offers - the bonuses are probably a result of not enough people buying miles. If only they would fix the program bugs I'm sure they could sell more points. My wish list is: allow awards on all *A airlines (i.e. like UA and AC do), fix the search engine so you don't need the screen shot method and allow layovers up to 23H59M. There are probably others but these are my biggest bugbears. Unlike some others I really don't care about the old loopholes / tricks.

I just used up my last batch of LM points. The extra effort with LM does negate their price advantage a bit to me.

Whoever picked their voice provider needs to be sacked. Makes understanding for each side of the conversation very frustrating at times.

Todays top tip...

Don't forget your password and don't get locked out of your account.

After numerous calls, tweets, facebook and emails. Along with scanned identify document I got them to finally send me the reset password link which was never coming through regardless of what email address they sent it to.

6 weeks later I have finally been able to login to my account.

I did have to laugh, they had suggested I buy some miles on the current 2x1 promo once I'm back in my account.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Guys...

Just wondering what is the maximum connection we can 'create' via screenshot method ??
I managed to get 2 different connection from KUL-SYD and not sure which one is better :-)

KUL-xSIN-xCGK-xICN-xPEK-xHND-SYD (SQ,SQ,OZ,OZ,NH,NH).. no more than 3 hours for each connection..

KUL-xSIN-xTPE-xICN-SYD (SQ,BR,BR,OZ).. got to spend about 20hours at ICN

Any inputs ?? Haven't try NH, OZ and BR business class before..

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

any tips for finding LH F? i'm using the united tool instead of LM but still not having any luck - is it only <14 days for UA too?

looking for any port out of USA to FRA end Nov/ start Dec with a connection to somewhere in Europe. i.e. to enjoy the F terminal!

cheers

T-14 for any FF programs other than LH's own Miles &More for F

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Unless you are traveling in the next 14days, no luck but to wait.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

updated itinerary >> KUL-xSIN-xTPE-xICN-xPVG-xHND-SYD (SQ, BR, BR, OZ, NH, NH)
damaged = 25k points (sweet spot) and USD$380

Gday

Just curious as to what your total trip duration is?

Pele.
