I doubt there's a solution but it cannot hurt to ask:
I booked via QFF two J award seats on an AA flight from JFK to LAX in May (AA181), as no F seats were available at the time.
AA seem to have this annoying habit of releasing F award seats one at a time. They released one the other day and so I grabbed it in the hope that they would release another one before May and I could cancel the 2 J seats in favour of the 2 F seats.
Problem is that the AA computer identified duplicate bookings and within 12 hours cancelled the F booking I made.
I guess I could cancel one of the J's and book the F - only problem being if they don't release another one, my partner and I will be sitting in different cabins (maybe not a terrible result... )
Anyone know a way around this? I rang Qantas and they said them's the breaks. Or does anyone know if they just never release more than 1 F award seat on this flight? If not, i should stop wasting my time on it.
Incidentally, Expert Flyer shows that not a single first class seat has been sold yet on that flight....
Thanks in anticipation.
