Hi, I’ve got 600K in points, looking to book MEL-USA flights and hoping to get Prem Economy to LAX and dreaming for Business return from DFW or LAX.
Looking at May 2025.
I am a Bronze Member, so I understand higher Tier QFF members get better access.

I have been searching for weeks via Seats.aero and GYOZA and the occasional visit to Qantas.com
Nothing direct is available in Premium or Business, only connections via Toyko or Fiji with some legs upgraded.
I’m not keen on that.

I’ve joined AwardNexus.com today, and they are showing some Direct Flights MEL-LAX in May 2025, stating there are Premium Economy seats available.
How accurate is that?
If accurate, any suggestions how to access..?
I jump on Qantas site and they are not showing Premium Economy seats available (some available in Economy)

Anyone with experience with Awards Nexus and accuracy of information…?
And if accurate, why can’t I see it on the Qantas site…?

Thanks in advance.

Dan.

I cant give advice in relation to Award Nexus accuracy but from my experience as a bronze member, I rarely see anything but economy class classic reward seats on direct QF flights to the USA. Lots of seats/dates to choose from though. You could book economy and register for an upgrade to Business or PE and hope it comes through. Or book classic plus reward in PE/J.

If you happen to fly on an A380 then Y class is ok.

The issue with booking economy + upgrade request is that the upgrade request costs almost the same as the premium economy seat to start with, and that’s on top of the points already spent.

I just logged on as a silver… only economy seats showing MEL-LAX for me in the entire period May-August. So award nexus doesn’t seem to be accurate for bronze/silver at least.
