Award redemption to north america in Dec this year

Hey All - trying to get 2 people to North America from Perth somewhere around 20/21/22 Dec.
Looks like award availability ex Aus has completely dried up..... Been watching going through NAN (Via Syd), SIN, KUL, HKG - you name it.
Connections look fine - LAX, SFO, DFW, SEA or YVR - but stuffed if I can see a way out of Aus at the moment.

Ive been watching the 'new normal' release dates - and was tracking nicely - but pretty much the last week has all dried up

Anyone else noticing ?

What FF scheme(s) are you checking against?

Are you open to a paid flight to a staging point in Asia and then looking for awards from there?

For example: Paid flight from PER to HKG, and then check award availability HKG <> North America

Plenty of availability in December with Velocity from the east coast to LAX, SFO, JFK and YVR depending on airline. Multiple seats too. Looks like Velocity have only released seats until the 19th at this stage so a few more days and the 20-22nd should open up.

Yep already have 6 of us flying out the 18th - looking for the last 2.
Liamsal - It does look like qatar has just opened up quite a few that might be the go. any chance of a PM with anything else that you have found ? Looking on the united site - looks like there wont be any saver awards (-> VA) coming after the 10th Dec. And Singapore air looks the same
(PS Offshore - Searching Qantas, VA, Qatar, Cathay, United and SIA)

I'm literally in the same position but Sydney to LAX or DFW is what I'm after.

ZERO Qantas Premium Economy or Business Award seats are appearing on their multi-stop calendar for the whole of December 2025. Something I've literally never seen before.

I decided today to purchase Seats.Aero and I've put your flight needs in: Perth to LAX. Results below:

When I searched SYD to LAX - on the 17th there were a number of Fiji airwards business award seats available. Hope this helps.
