I booked a redemption flight last Thursday but it doesn't seem to have ticketed yet. Points are still showing in my account and haven't received an e-ticket yet. Don't normally fly Qantas so not sure if it's a regular issue or something I need to try and chase up? Booked my Virgin flight at the same time and as usual the e-ticket came straight through.

I lost an Award Cathay flight this week because everything else was completed but Cathay cancelled it because Qantas hadn't ticketed it. Call Qantas.

As Pushka says, if this was a ticket for travel on a partner airline, definitely call and get it ticketed. Partner airlines can autocancel if not ticketed in time.

However, if this is a ticket on a Qantas plane, it doesn't really matter, because even if they screw up they just create an award seat for you and get you on the plane no matter what. Saves you having to hold for hours on the phone.

It's not uncommon for Qantas to take time to ticket flights... they claim they do it in order of priority, or date. So if your flight is a long time away, you may enter a queue. Dunno why... no other airline takes time to ticket.

In my experience it's always something holding up the process like a missing passport number or something, usually if you contact them they find it, fix it and it goes straight through.

Did you call QF to see if they can get the seat back. In the past I have lost flights with MU, QR and EK and on all occasions QF have got them back for use.

Just spoken to them after a long wait. Previous booking hadn't processed correctly. Luckily there were still J redemptions available on the flight I wanted. Rebooked whilst on the phone and they cancelled the previous booking once the new one was confirmed. E-ticket just dropped into my in box.

Yep I called when my booking only appeared as Hong Kong - LHR 🤦‍♀️ The operator basically begged me to cancel because she said she didn't have any chance of Cathay playing ball. Covid times of course. 🙇🏼‍♀️

Had the same problem this week. It was actually Qatar that messaged me to give me the heads up. Had a long wait and two phone calls later had a call centre member who said the previous people had done a very poor job and fixed it right up. Luckily didn't lose a seat.
