Award searches on Qantas FF - DOH to SA/UAE

Hi All,

As many here know, the blockade between Qatar and Saudi Arabia/UAE/Egypt/Bahrain is now done and QR can fly to those countries and services have resumed. I can find flights to and from Doha to those regions on individual airlines websites, however, I can't find any awards at all through the Qantas FF website.

I have also called Qantas and the person I spoke to had no idea what the blockade was and pretty much couldn't answer any of my questions.

I was wondering if anyone knew when this issue would be resolved? If flights are operating again and seats are on sale - awards should be too right?

Just for full disclosure - when using Skyscanner or Google flights, you also cannot see any flights either, so it is not only a Qantas issue.

If anyone knew when or if this issue was going to be resolved anytime soon, or possibly a QF insider could tell us something, that would be much appreciated.

Have you tried searching on BA.com? Usually the best source for QR availability

I'm not seeing any QR award availability either when searching on routes like DXB-DOH. The problem seems to be that Qatar Airways hasn't yet released any award availbility on these routes - I'm not seeing any award inventory on Expert Flyer either. Probably just a teething problem, and I suspect it will be fixed over time.

FWIW, the Qantas website doesn't let you search for award flights where the first sector originates in Qatar (or various other countries). But that doesn't seem to be related to the issue you're talking about.

I'm excited about the ending of the blockade as I really hope it will open up some better (and maybe even cheaper) options for visits to my son in Dubai, when they finally let us out of the country again.

Yeh it seems that you're correct. It must be around QR not releasing anything.

I tried searching LHR-DMM, LHR-RUH and LHR-DXB and no QR seats came up. I also tried CDG as the origin and same thing. I did find plenty of availability on CDG-DOH and LHR-DOH on QR though.

Let's hope it gets fixed soon, although, not sure what use it'll be till next year maybe.
