Award space on VX through VA

Just managed to get a ticket issued for a passenger. So it seems the reason for failing was because only 1 seat on VX was available. Now begins the waiting game for the second seat.

This morning spent 20 minutes on the phone to get my wife's unconfirmed booking redeposited after having booked it right after mine. Now, no reward seats are showing at all to LAX. Someone is messing with their IT from the backend. Last night no VA code shares were visible through EF/KVS.

Yeah... I just put a query in via the Ask VFF subforum to ask if they can look into it (I'm trying to hunt down VA7 and EY availability).

just put a random date in the system and I can see seats in all classes on VA7 on 10NOV15 ... what dates you after ?

Aug 1 or 2 for BNE to LAX, and Sep 5 for LAX to BNE is when I'm not seeing anything... I think VA flights may be OK, as I can see scattered availabilty, and I am after all trying to get J award seats on a weekend! I'm not at all sure it was this restricted a couple of weeks ago, but maybe I was just too optimistic when I didn't have specific dates in mind.

EY award availability I strongly suspect is broken though, the web page won't even search for it in some cases, and in others there is nothing showing.

If you are flexible with dates you can get 2 seats 28JUL or 04AUG BNE LAX and return 02SEP LAX BNE

EY - you are better to call as what is shown online is codeshare and limited availability

The flights came back now for CBR-LAX, LAX BOS is still unavailable. I've set up an alert on EF for VA I and VX D, hopefully that will correlate with Z and K respectively should VX open more seats.

Yeah, it's a bit more complicated as I'm coming back from the east coast US, so trying to line up domestic availability on VX or DL at the same time. Looks like I can actually get first class availability back from Washington all the way back to Brisbane but they want to charge it as two separate bookings for some reason, making it a very inefficient use of points. Talk about frustrating!

Try searching through another domestic sector. So for example, instead of JFK-BNE one way, search JFK-MEL/ADL/CBR/CNS, more options should come up! Where are you returning from?

My 'real' origin point for the return is Orlando (MCO). The domestic side is less of a problem than the long hauls at the moment, with quite limited dates showing for the VA flights from LAX, and a complete lack of being able to organise anything going on EY via AUH. I'm actually OK with the slightly longer trip, as some Etihad First on an A380 or 787 would be a nice way to finish off a holiday!

So I grabbed a points booking on a non-ideal date, just to keep it in reserve, and was able to get a VX first seat from LAX to SFO through the call centre, on the same ticket as BNE-LAX... Might not help those already having problems!
