At 80000 return it wasn't too bad - that's why I booked just before the change over in May. 96 000 is a bit steep but when you think about points they are 'free' - they don't have to give them to you - and the other thing is for those us on salaries they are a non-FBTable form of income (for now) so I don't really sneeze at anything I get.

As for the LOTFAP I, too, wanted to avoid it where possible - I am actually going to Canada but couldn't get there any other way (on points). I'd go via HK if could, just to avoid the full body search.
