Thanks for the tip
Nice find. Doesn't seem to be open jaw return this time though, AY used to be good at them
That is true and can be useful. Open jaw is probably the wrong technical term but AY often used to offer these fares and you could finish in AU for not much extra than the return. You can book an open jaw with this fare. I can see lots of examples where this works, e.g. flying into Amsterdam and out of Berlin.

Yes, also wondering on the fare difference you are seeing ex AUS as opposed to ex BKK.That is true and can be useful. Open jaw is probably the wrong technical term but AY often used to offer these fares and you could finish in AU for not much extra than the return.
You can do something like BKK-HEL-OSL-HEL-BKK-SYD for about 88600 THB, or ~3700 AUD.
Returning OSL-HEL-HKG-SYD is slightly more.

Could you provide some detail on the AU return you are seeing? I so wish I could use this fare. Unfortunately my next booking is not until December 2019. Can anyone advise as to whether they have seen this fare previously?
If you travel on Finnair you can credit to Qantas, or any other one world alliance airline. If you want to earn velocity points you should look at flying Etihad or Singapore.HI If I travel with finnair business HKG to Berlin what is the best frequent flyer should I use
I am Qantas frequent flyer & Kris flyer Basic member
Velocity Platinum member or are there are other fares like that which can give velocity status credit
Thanks for your help
