All the more reason for an uneconomic repair?
Agreed, unless they want to be able to say that they haven't had a hull loss for X years. Having said that, I'm sure they would have lost that 777 that crash landed a few years ago in London so there goes that theory... :)
 
Edit: Just had a quick look on Google Earth at VCV, a recent pic too. I think I spot a couple of old QF birds there? Am I mistaken? probably, but curious.
There are a number of retired QF aircraft in storage at VCV awaiting sale or parting out.

Thanks Himeno, I'm sure about 2, possibly another 2 as well. The 2 i'm sure of, look like 747-400, perhaps one of them is VH-OJI? I remember reading of middle of last year.
