If you can make it, the Qatar lounge is absolutely fabulous. We were there last week and while the Qantas First lounge was bursting full (and having virtually nothing on the menu that isn't from the sea and hence being the most useless of the Qantas lounges anywhere- my personal taste/ intolerances of course but really, couldn't there be ANY beef or even just chicken dish on their menu?), the Qatar lounge was an almost empty heaven of calm.

Great food, super friendly service and the cleanest toilet/ shower facilities in Changi. Some photographic inspirations from their food below for building excitement  Their chicken Satay was better than the Satay on MH (SQ wins here but I am a total Satay "nut", no pun intended) and both the lamb and beef mains were excellent. They also got Sushi but, as per the above, I can't feedback on that. Singapore Sling looks divine but is a bit weak on the gin imho.

We flew BA 16 last night. We were there about 25 minutes before checkin opened in Row 9 in Terminal 1. I noticed a sign saying Early checkin for BA 12, 15 and 16 in Row 8 position 8.
We went round and indeed there was. I am not sure though how long that was operative before we got there.

Thanks drron. We fly back BA16 in a couple of weeks. Will give SATS a go. If it works out all good.
Welcome home, even though its hot, very hot.

While usually this forum is full of useful information but in this case, it was all wrong/outdated (no one’s fault, must have changed recently). I’m at Changi right now and am happy to report that BA actually had TWO early check in options:

For all customers in any class, there’s one counter open from 2pm at the back row of BA’s standard check in (there’s obviously need for it as a long queue of people was forming there) and then there is the not-so “forever closed” SATS premium check in for Business and First customers. Worked a treat and we still got about three hours left now to enjoy the lounges
12 Feb 2024. Just travelled back from Singapore so this info is current as of posting date.

For Business/First the SATS Premier Early Check-in lounge located at the end of Row 4 currently opens at 2.30pm.

The check-in desk at the end of Row 9 is available for all classes and again this opens at 2.30pm.

The baggage storage facility on Level 1 of Jewel costs around S$16 per suitcase if you don’t fancy wheeling them about.

We are now at Changi airport. We are flyying JAL business. The SATS lounge near row 5 would not let us early checkin, only BA and Turkish.
We had to do it at the Jewel.

I don't mind checking in early at the Jewel. Better than no early check-in option ;)

Yes it’s a good option, but very busy and only two bag drops for Oneworld customers, big queue
