It's not just available through Travel Managers either. There's other agents who have access to this.

Where do you find a travel agent who understands earning QF Status credits (eg. will offer you a flex flare instead of a saver to maximise your SC or alternate legs/destinations ) and is able to assist you in planning your flight ? We have tried a couple but seem to do all of the work ourselves as agents don't necessarily 'understand' what you are requesting and how to access offers like the one above. From time to time I see specials and great ideas on this site but don't know how to access people who actually deal with this and understand.

I have no experience with any particular agents to recommend, but there is at least one who posts here on AFF, and then there are others like the link I posted with the fare above. I'm guessing they might have a better understanding of SCs rather than say a larger chain like Flight Centre. (In fact I think the agent mentioned in my post also maximises SC earn on round-the-world specials to give QF gold with one trip etc)

I can wholeheartedly recommend the person who posted just above yours (i.e. "madrooster"). He's been simply brilliant in coming up with creative itineraries, etc, and then he can actually book it for you :-)

I have noticed that the PointsHack TravelManagers is Luke and one can contact him direct however are there any others? You do mention that the special flight is not solely available through TravelMangers. I was interested in the above to fly Brisbane to Paris however the dates do not suit.

If the above fare is outside your dates there are a whole range of other options. You could fly QF economy to Asia for example, then full business class from there. Qatar airways is currently offering return from Jakarta to Europe for ~AUD1900. And you can connect on Qantas to Jakarta. If that fare isn't available when you need it there will be others. They're pretty frequent.

Thank you, these are the sort of suggestions that do my mind in at times when I am looking for ways of earning SC. I don't seem to be able to find special deals. How do you find this information?

Thank you I am not sure how to pm him. I have tried going to his profile but cannot find a link. I would love to find someone who could work with me on my self funded budget a couple of times a year.

Here on AFF there’s a thread dedicated to special fares... ‘international discount fares’ (or words to that effect). Flyertalk is another bulletin board that has a ‘premium fare deals’ thread. Pointhacks (link in post one) sometimes has specials.

There’s also the good ol’ fashioned way, googleflights, you have to play around a bit but searching from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta, sometimes even singapore and hong kong will bring up fares (you only need to enter the origin and the map will show a range of destinations around the world for the cheapest price in whichever class you choose).

Hi Mad Rooster, have tried to send a private message but not sure if it got through. Are you allowed to send access details through of your business? Wondered if you were an online, solo agent or worked for a company. Would love to be able to book through you if possible though trip not til next year. Not sure if the rules of the forum allow you to give out details.
Cheers
Jennie
