Hi,
SHould I earn points on my QF or BA card for a BA flight?

I'm thinking of booking SIN to EDI (see concurrent thread), I will pay by cash.
If I do I could accumulate points on either of 2 cards, QF or BA, which would be best to gain?
How do QF allocate points earned on a BA flight [all 4 flights are BA]?

QF is my longer term card, but both are active and not due to expire for 2.5 years.

My current status:
BA - Blue member, 100000 points (I used to do travel from LHR)
[use of these points - European tickets for extended family using GBP 27 + miles for reward saver flights, no further charges, e.g. HEL-LHR-EDI is 15000 points + GBP27, usually 300GBP so not bad I thought]
Qantas - Silver 316000 points ( I used to do travel from MEL) [have never used any of these points]
Emirates - Blue 20000 points (I'm now in SIN and when it's personal they're usually cheapest by far)

BA? I'm feeling a bit anti-QFF at the moment. Trying to use some of my QF points at the moment, but with a few BA Avios at my disposal thanks to BMI I can't do it.

Scenario 1: NRT-PEK Y 10,000 Avios or 26,000 QF points - taxes same
Scenario 2: LHR-LIN Y 4,500 Avios + 26SGD or 14,000 QF points +55 GBP.
Scenario 3: SIN-MEL J (if I can ever get availability): 40,000 Avios or 60,000 QFF pts.

I guess you earn more QFF point as silver (50% bonus), but burn is not great.

I don't know about BA earning. But when I flew there in May I had a BA code in one direction and a QF code in the other. I credit both flights to QF. The QF code flight got the minimum points guarantee, the BA one didn't. IF you decide to credit to QF, try to book QF coded flights, all things being equal you'll get better earning. (see below, note both flights were in S fare class)

There is a indeed a minimum points guarantee for BA discount economy earning with QFF - 125!

That's what an NB would have earned.

You did not because of the status bonus.
