Was looking at the Velocity parental pause which looks great as we wont be able to do as much OS or Work travel for a bit. From what i can see both you and your partner can take a pause of six months (within 2 yrs of having a kid) and then have you status level maintained for 12 mths after this. I presume its smartest to wait a month before you membership review date to start this pause?

Anyone used this, know any more details?

Does anyone know can both parents start the pause at different times or does it need to be the same time?

If you fly during the six month pause do you still get status benefits?

Just did this. Wife silver, me gold.

Best to do it right near the review date, as you will get effectively another 18 months of that status.

Very quick phone call to do it, they didn't ask for any proof at all. We phoned and did ours together, but they way the conversation went i don't think there's anything stopping each parent from ringing up separately at different times, as once the call centre person did me, she started the whole process again with my wife, and this was only by me being proactive by asking if she could do my wife as well.

Benefits continue as per normal, only in the 6 month hold you will not earn status credits (but continue to earn points). One the 6 months is over, I understand everything back to normal wiht your review date changed for another 12 months and normal status qualification is needed.

I am currently on the pause right now, I did it just before bub turned 2. As it turns out we are now pregnant again so will be doing it again in the next 12 months or so.
I am on gold and hubby is only on red so we didn't bother with him (we pool all our points/SC into mine)

Thats cool! On my account the whole status credits part has dissapeared so it's good to know they still tally up in the background
