Back to the 1930’s? Air NZ to weigh passengers.

While it is being recorded, I doubt anyone actually see the weight associated with you individually. All that anyone needs to know is that it was recorded correctly.
And why would anyone actually care what some random person weighs. or am I missing something. I doubt anyone sitting at a weigh station at AKL airport is going to go home to the family and say "this fat person from north of Brisbane weighed 106 kg's"

The missing part is that the checkin staff don't actually see the weight figure
Air NZ staff haven’t been doing the weighing at all. The 3rd party security company that are the same ones who ask the USA flight security questions have been the ones operating the scales.

I’m flying through Auckland domestic and international terminals on a weekly basis at the moment and in the last few weeks they’ve moved to international flights. Both times more recently they’ve been sitting waiting at the Tonga gate however I’m sure they’re also doing others it just so happens there has been a Tonga flight both times I’ve gone through in the last couple of weeks.

Can’t imagine why
It’s a serious issue as Hawaiian airlines had proper take off performance issues on flights to American Samoa.

Whilst Tonga isn’t statistically as bad it can be a problem on some routes/destinations.

They didnt do it on NZ125 AKL - MEL today 15 Jul.
Using inflight wifi now.
Bumpy az...
Tongans can be of larger dimensions, and carry lots of things.
