It's not only those on loudspeaker that are annoying. It's also those not on speaker that speak so loud that all other guests can here. We are not interested in your conversations and not impressed with your arrogance.
With or without speaker people dining in the Flounge should not be making calls. Please leave the area if you need to take a call, I don't really need to hear all your company confidential information anyway.

Some people need to use loudspeaker, but should be more considerate of others. I actually have sympathy for the staff here. Pretty tough scenario. At least they tried to speak with the person in question. Perhaps it could have been escalated and an offer made to move the person to somewhere more private?
Narcissistic types are oblivious to societal norms and what other people think of their behaviours. What they see in the mirror is someone of importance; while we look at them and think "what a First Class tosser". Since they won't be considerate voluntarily the only option is for rules to be in place which the airlines are prepared to enforce without exception. I think a sign stating that anyone engaging in noisy or disruptive behaviour will not be permitted to remain in the lounge would suffice. The interpretation of what constitutes "loud or disruptive" could be at the discretion of the lounge staff.
