Hoping one of the many guru's on here can help. I'm looking at making a Velocity redemption on AB in Y between TXL and CPH (yes - I know, not extracting the most value from points...but anyway...). The ever-so-helpful Velocity call center reps are telling me that they can't tell me luggage allowance for the redemption - and that I need to contact AB. AB are telling me that they're not sure if the booking will be into the "Economy Light" bucket - and that I need to speak with Velocity. Basically, I want to know if I need to purchase luggage separately.

I know that QF redemption's on AB in Y allow one free checked bag, even short haul Europe. Is it the same with Velocity? I couldn't see anything on the website to guide me, either.

YES - AB reward seats in X class include a bag 23kg -

Your VA SG will also give you another 23KG bag if needed

I have a related question. It's been a little while since I've flown Airberlin. Does VA (and QF) status still get you a free checked bag on Economy Light fares (that normally come without a checked bag)?
