First post, be kind :)

My wife and I have two interest free balance transfers that have been going for a while - 2+ years. I could pay them off but enjoy not having to with 0% balance transfers introductory offers.

My questions is. Can I balance transfer from my wife's account to mine, so when the time comes we only need to apply for 1 new card and not 2 to keep it going?

Thanks

Well the Terms and Conditions of most transfers suggest you can only transfer to your own account. In reality banks don't actually usually know the account owner that relates to a credit card number at another bank so it may well work, you can only try!

Thanks! that is what I'm thinking. Would love to know if anyone has had any luck with this?

i did a b/t to my wifes cb account . i was a supplementary card holder so i just put down my card number and my name. it worked. got wife to call up cb and asked for the funds in credit to be transfered to a cb savings account

I do not believe they check the name matches when doing a balance transfer.

This news is fantastic...thanks for starting the thread dw122 and thanks to others for your answers.

Citibank also offers a "Cheque to Self" option on their Ready Credit and Personal Credit products. Basically, you call them and they send you a cheque made out to you at the balance transfer interest rate. You can then bank this and pay off whatever you like. I took advantage of this a few years back to consolidate 2 personal loans at 12%+ to 5.9% for life of balance transferred. I can handle CitiBank's sometime woeful customer service for those sorts of savings.
