My friends passed through yesterday without having to pay VOA. They are happy as... but we never know how long it is going to last for...

This is great news! I'd resigned to having to pay the VOA fee for my upcoming trip to Jakarta.

Just out of interest, does this now mean that Australians simply get some kind of entry stamp in their passport, as opposed to a sticker-type visa? Anyone able to report?

With the amount of travelling done here I doubt it!

I visited Bali on 11/3/2016 and was charged the US$35 Visa on arrival fee!

Interesting to note that there is nothing on the Indonesian Embassy (Canberra) page regarding this change. I would have expected some kind of "news" item announcing it. Also, if you do click on the visa free menu option, the information on the subsequent page does not include Australia in the list of countries.

I'm happy. But I've got to say I find it a strange move by the Indonesian government. They will gain very little extra visitors (I imagine), but lose a shedload of money!
