It looks like it's finally happened! :)

After a few false starts.

Yes, I have had a few friends going through today and not having to pay the VOA :D Finally!!

Yay. On a cruise in Dec and the ship was going to charge $60USD each to organise!

Id be happy to hear from someone that has actually passed through immigration there and not paid the fee. Then i will celebrate.. Please post if you have....

Not me but it was posted by an Aussie on Cruise Critic who arrived today.

My friends passed through yesterday without having to pay VOA. They are happy as... but we never know how long it is going to last for...

This is great news! I'd resigned to having to pay the VOA fee for my upcoming trip to Jakarta.

Just out of interest, does this now mean that Australians simply get some kind of entry stamp in their passport, as opposed to a sticker-type visa? Anyone able to report?

I visited Bali on 11/3/2016 and was charged the US$35 Visa on arrival fee!

Interesting to note that there is nothing on the Indonesian Embassy (Canberra) page regarding this change. I would have expected some kind of "news" item announcing it. Also, if you do click on the visa free menu option, the information on the subsequent page does not include Australia in the list of countries.

A holiday in Bali just got nearly $200 cheaper for a family of 4.

awesome! going there in ~2wks for work.
i was assuming it was visa free for Aussies, prolly not a good idea to assume such things :o
