We stayed here for two nights and the value for money was fantastic. Had a great dinner at L'appart also.

Thanks, we have a day use only room at the novotel in late June, this may be a better alternative.

I just booked the Regent Suvarnabhumi for 1 night next week in Superior room for AUD35. That includes minibus transfer from/to airport. Suits me just fine for the ~8 hours I will spend in transit.

I am going to stay in that area for 1.5 nights in July, mainly because I have a 2.00am departure so I prefer to be close, havent decided which hotel yet.

I have stayed in this hotel many times. The breakfast is very ordinary but the rooms are good and the service is excellent. I have also stayed at the Convenient Resort but looks like their cheap rates don't include airport transfers now.

Have a photo of the room somewhere.

Interesting. What's the immediate area like? Paseo Mall maybe close but that seems to be it. I was considering Thong Ta Resort as it seems closer to a handful of restaurants and bars, shops.

I know Bangkok too well, . That why I am staying away this time. (at night anyway)

Not a lot around. Think there could be a 7Eleven nearby. Ladkrabang markets are not too far away. Not sure if every night but the Thursday night market when I was there was quite good.

Did some digging, would that be around Soi 50 Lat Krabang Rd?. roughly 10 mins dead east of where you are staying - looks much shorter than that on the map :)

That should be it. Stayed at the Convenient Grand (not to be confused with Convenient Resort) and taxi was around 10 minutes.

Here are a couple of photos of the superior room. One was November and one was early December. Apologies for quality of photos.

Flimsy curtains. Definitely not blockout ones. Would need eye shades, type you get on flights, to have chance to quality sleep.

Point taken. No issues sleeping at night time. These photos were around 11:00am.

If that room is Superior I'd hate to see the inferior one
Suits me fine for $35. The room is cheaper than the transfer from/to airport. Floor is clean. Sheets are clean. Shower/bathroom OK.

In fact the last time I booked this hotel I had 2 x $30 vouchers from Qantas hotels and paid ~$8 and ~$9 for the rooms.

Hi all,
I haven't been to Bangkok for over 10 years and have a trip coming up. Main reasons to go is food (including booking at Nahm) and relaxing. Good hotel pool would be nice.

Now I am looking at Metropolitan by COMO (where Nahm is), Banyan Tree nearby or VIE by MGallery. All around $150 a night which is ok, Banyan about $200. Am I wasting my money going to one of these or should I go to the Pullman for $120 or something like Novotel? Want to be downtown somewhere (but location not a big issue).

Any recommendations?

I've stayed at VIE. I prefer other Accor hotels. Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit is my go-to hotel. BTS at doorstep.
