Bangkok Millenium v. Conrad?

I have booked the Conrad Bangkok too at this stage but the infinity pool at Millenium looks awesome. Which Hilton Experiences thread are you referring too? Mind posting a link? If I proceed with the Conrad Bangkok booking maybe we can catch up for a quick drink in the EL .

I have, at this stage decided to go as follow:
Sat - Hilton Sukhumvit
Sun - W Hotel
Mon - Conrad

Any one has any recommendation what to do in Bangkok etc?

Anyone stayed at Conrad Residences? It is in the same complex as Conrad but room rate for the date I am searching more than half price.

And does this count as a stay with airline partner miles as well?

I looked at the Conrad residence and it's always around 3000baht more expensive!! BTW JohnK, since u r a frequent traveller to Bangkok, any good suggestion? And my above booking, does it make sense?

I am frequent traveller to BKK airport not Bangkok itself.

What to do in Bangkok though is all dependent on the person and what interests you.

Personally I think going up to Ayutthaya by bus and then a boat back down the river would be an ideal day trip and not too expensive.

I also think things like the Floating market, flower market, Chatuchak markets, MBK shopping centre are good places to visit once. I dont care much for trendy type of places but plenty of inexpensive English style pubs in Sukhumvit.

Hi all

I have HH Diamond due to my VA WP and need to book a night in BKK in October (a Wednesday). Stopping over for a party evening on our way to HKG (arrive 4pm, depart 4pm next day). I hate BKK but my best mate loves it so treating him to a party stopover. Have done all the sightseeing, shopping etc in BKK before so it'll be check-in, drinks, dinner, drinks, party, bed, breakfast, pool, check-out.

I havent stayed in a Hilton in 5 years so don't know much about them but understand I get a fair bit of 'bang for my buck' with my HHD at some properties.

Location wise, Conrad is the best located for the venues we'll be heading to. Am hoping to take advantage of the Exec Lounge and free breakfast too.

Priorities are price, likelihood of a late check-out, and location.

Which property would you recommend?

Based on your priorities, I think you're best places to figure that one out!

Price will be whatever is showing on the website.
Location- you say the Conrad is best
Late checkout- if price isn't sky high, then occupancy isn't either. This will determine your checkout time. I suggest that you will get to 3 or 4pm at no charge with either hotel.

You've answered your own question. Getting around Bangkok can be difficult at times if you're not sure where you're going and the Millennium isn't easy to get in and out of via public transport, ferry to the SkyTrain and then a few stops into the city centre.

The Conrad on the other hand is much more centrally located.

As a HHD I've always been treated very well at the Conrad, they acknowledge status and I have been told more than once that late check out is a Diamond benefit.

Conrad you can walk to most places so it's pretty good for that.
