Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

You should be able to put your Qantas number in and Save it. Mine is still there.

Yeh it is still there under my profile. Just on the 31/8 statement it is listed as "None Recorded".

Anyone else got a 31/8 statement with "None recorded"?

EDIT: I've cheched a few other statements. Looks like it is just mine :(

I'm tempted to just do heaps of transaction over the weekend to beef up my points for the transfer on Monday. Not sure if that's wise.

Yep, me! But I'm not worried as I thought it was always the first statement of the following month (e.g. dated 1 Sept or after) which listed the QFF earn for the month prior?

Okay, can confirm. Have looked at my statement history, and back in May for exampled I received a statement on 31 May which had zero QFF points listed and then I got another statement on 2 June which listed my QF earn for the entire month of May.

Yes I've looked back a few months and typically the points show up on a statement around the 4th-7th of the month, never on the 30th/31st.

Under the Qantas Frequent Flyer No. where my qff number usually is on every statement, it just says "None Recorded".
Points still say 0 which is expected at 31/8.

Today being the first day of the new RBA payment fee rules (for big businesses) it is interesting to note the large change in the payment fee for Telstra (given that is where most of these accounts were being used). Previously Telstra was charging a 1.1% fee (and actually not charging anything due to how their billing system calculated the fees on 1c). Today the fee is 0.30%.

1. This shows that there is not a lot of money being made by Bankwest on these specific transactions (to fund the QFF points)
2. That means Telstra was absolutely profiteering off the previous fee.

No wonder Amex generally pays 0.5 points for payments to telcos.

There is alos the possibility Testra renegotiated their fee with the banks in light of the Sept 1 changes.

This fee may also be an average (assuming the average punter has a bill of, say $50). Doesn't mean it doesn't cost them a minimum per transaction.

Oddly enough, of all the accounts in our household, the only one remaining is the original account with two cards attached to it

On one of our accounts, which is getting closed 5 September, a statement was issued today dated 1/9, with 6983 points showing as earned and due to be credited to QFF. So looks like for accounts closed in September, August points earned will be transferred.

Does the statement still have the QFF number on it?

Yes, I has a statement today too, glad to have something I can complain against if this doesn't get paid, but I believe it will be if they have statemented.

Just submitted a complaint :) Two accounts closed yesterday with zero notification (no letter arrived).

I've asked for the closing balances to be sent in cheque form (I assume this was done as a manner of course), for the QFF points accrued from August to be posted to my QFF account and for copies of any and all personal information held.

Log in my BW account today and account have disappear in online banking ( 31 AUG ) didn't received new statement for Sep so not sure if points will be posted on 5 Sep . It look like we still can open or apply for different product from BW . Anyone here have different services with BW can confirm if your credit card investment account or other type of account have been intact ?

Logged in to check all is well. Yes, all my money was transferred out properly. And they gave me a cent in interest.
