Beer in a bottle - not in BNE (optional in MEL)?

I honestly think this varies by staff member in each lounge. I've had bottles in BNE before, and also glasses. Sometimes I'm even given a choice.

QC - beer in bottle - ok
J Lounge, beer in bottle - not ok.
Maybe those in the QC are more trustworthy?

I still don't understand why there is no consistency throughout the lounges. Surely it would be more economical to serve in bottles if people prefer that.

Also have a hot pasta dish available.

I forgot to post but last Friday (10/02/2012) in the BNE business lounge I was asked if I wanted to have my Pure Blonde in a glass or the bottle.

Yes, can confirm their policy has changed and they now serve beer in a bottle! Maybe they read AFF???

Re: Bottle or Glass in the MEL J lounge

Mildly interesting event in the MEL J lounge today - I was asked if I wanted a bottle or glass for my beer - I opted for bottle as it is one less item to wash...

I haven't been offered a bottle in the QP/J lounge in a long time - is this a change in policy?

As a follow up - I haven't been offered a bottle since this...

I noticed recently but didn't think that anyone else would have picked up on it.

*update*
In the SYD J Lounge atm.
There was a small que for drinks, some help arrived.
Pax ordered a VB, from the bottle, no glass please.
Staff member says, 'sorry, we have to pour it into a glass'
Senior staff member steps in, 'no, there has been a rule change. From the bottle is now ok.'

Yes, QF are reading these forums...
