Hey All,

I was just wondering if anyone could explain to me which (if any) of my WP benefits I would receive when travelling on JQ to Queenstown. This flight would be booked through Qantas.com as a red e-deal

It appears that I would be able to access the FCL in Sydney but am I right in assuming that I wouldnt receive any extra baggage etc?

This is correct. While you do not have any additional baggage allowance on this Jetstar operated flight, you will have access to the International Business and First Lounge as a Platinum member. :)

In general the only status benefits you get when flying Jetstar are lounge access (if available/open) and you also get the FF status bonus. So as a platinum you'll get a 100% frequent flyer points bonus if of course you have booked a fare package that is eligible for FF points.

As far as I know there are no other benefits.

Can a One World Sapphire flying on the above ticket be eligible for lounge access?

You would have access to the International Business Lounge if travelling on a Jetstar Business Max Fare, however not as a oneworld Sapphire member or travelling on a Jetstar Starter or Max fare.

Thanks for the replies all.

As I will be snowboarding (and hence have quite a bit of gear) is there any way to add additional baggage to my JQ fare if booked through qantas.com?

You'll need to contact JQ directly to arrange this.

SYD-ZQN - does that sell a business max fare?

No it doesn't.

They're only available on A330 services. SYD-ZQN is operated by an A320.

Alternatively, can you fly on Saturday, Sunday or Wednesday? These days are operated by QF.

given RR said lounge access was available on that itinerary in business I thought it must have been operated by an A330!
