Attending the Sydney test each year, the areas reserved for those who have been members for 50 and 70 years is generally full of 30 to 40 year old's. The SCG and MCG must know but choose to do nothing about it despite long lists of people waiting for membership.

I don't know about the SCG but that is rubbish for the MCG. It is also not logical. If you are using great granddads' membership you would hardly risk getting caught by sitting in those seats. More likely such members can bring guests and/or seats are opened up when other areas are full.

And at the MCG they regularly do identity checks on entry to the ground. It's a serious offence to have passed your membership access to someone else. I guess the penalty isn't too worrying if you are already dead!

How would QF even know if you die? Don’t think they’re trawling obituaries on funeral home websites. Just give an envelope with login details inside to whoever you want to have the points.

There was an anecdote on this site some years where someone passed away having six figures of QFF points and a coworker had advised QFF of the death.

This was much to the chagrin of the deceased's spouse.

Yep, that's my point. Rather than just giving someone the ability to log in and process standard transfers, better to have your executor do it in one hit through Qantas' nominated process as NoName was suggesting.

They increased the limit a lot at the same time as the change in policy - something like 2mil now?

Now, PSA. If a loved one karks it in suspicious circumstances and the first thing you do is transfer their 2mil QFF expect a visit from the local constabulary. Hint, wait at least a week!
