Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Most Plat cards have travel insurance.

I am sure that some cards are more equal than others in their offerings. AFF might have a low down somewhere on the merits of each..... Not sure however?

Be very careful. A lot of them won't do it for points based trips, especially if it's a different points currency to your CC earn, if you held the card when you opened it, etc etc. You might be able to get around this by say pre-paying $500 worth of hotel/itinerary items.
AMEX Plat Charge will cover your trip redeemed through points if you charge the fees and taxes to the card. If AMEX is not accepted (and if you can prove it), they'll cover you too.
